U could have played the 40 point betting spread :) Good thing #19 came in at QB for most of the 2nd half, #8 has a long season ahead, needs to be healthy. Good experience for them though, faster, bigger, maybe slightly more obsessed coaching. The strength program is the best. See Saquon or Miles or a lot of other dudes that got an edge of another 20# and .2 off their 40's. Vandals will remember playing in Beaver Sta. the rest of their lives, nothing like it.

Eastern Washington, the Big Sky's #1 team got beat 14-47 by Washington, so hey, these are just money games and nobody plays for real unless they have a chance. And Penn State was a little goofy and so were the fans. ISU always beats Western State by 55 points. Its a habit. But Western State is at the bottom of D11 Rocky Mountain Conference. You can't tell me Penn State fans really believed this was a test of their team. Maybe the Freshman thought so but everyone else thought it was a show

The difference is that FAU has the ability to score points, recruit, and is an actual FBS team. Idaho is a team who got removed from the Sun Belt Conference and voluntarily moved down from FBS to FCS and plays in the Big Sky Conference, meaning Penn St beat the breaks of a 1-AA school. I'm not a fan of these games. Idaho is fighting way above their weight class, so you can't really blame them for the final score. I'd like to see the tune-up games at least be against a middling/good G5 team (like buffalo next week). I think it's better preparation for league play and while confidence is good, overconfidence is how you get caught sleeping against a better opponent.

Last year they had games that included losses such as: 56-10 to the vaunted Western New Mexico Mustangs, 62-28 to Idaho State, 79-13 to Fresno State, and 63-10 to Florida... Idaho is a few bad seasons away from not even bothering to play football.
