Free spirit who delivers. I think she's tapped into rarefied air - takes courage to climb that mountain. Good interview/er.

I fell in love with MJ back in 2004 when I first learned about her. I collected a copy of all her CDs and VHS tapes that I could find. I was mesmerized by her stories and creativity, that operated on more than one level. If you were new to her, it's hard to tell when she is screwing with your mind, or being straight. If you study her performances, you see that under the obvious, there is another story happening simultaneously. Nuance is one of her tools of deception to her audience. She also knows how to wield fear and the F-A-T-E. I had only known that kind of thinking in myself. Societal norms beat conformity into people so much, we barely dare to think freely and creatively, but I suppose we are better off with laws and rules, because that a civilization makes. Without it, humanity would be living like animals, fighting each other, and no construction. Miranda somehow flew over the top of that conditioning. She holds and flaunts something the rest of us lost. In the past, I longed so much to meet her one day and share our thoughts on what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object (which I figured out btw, in case she is listening).

I thought this was going to be Miranda July talking *about* writing dialogue! Still interesting to watch, though.
