Post Scriptum - OP Market Garden Campaign - Part I: A Gathering Storm [GER Comms/ENG Subs]

The first engagements of the Battle around Driel in the OP Market Garden Campaign saw us a bit on the back foot after being surprised by the british paras. Originally having no mission orders we were to wait at base. Only after the FlaK-Crew up front radioed in enemy contacts where we giving orders to move out. Had they been taken out before, the british might have overrun Driel before we got there. The campaign features a few special rules: The british paras do not get access to tanks, them beeing paratroopers. This is compensated by more AT guns as well as PIATs given out to the troop. The british also field more specialists at the cost of having less medics overall. The communication via the Squad channel (B key) is forbidden! To maintain contact with you troops, only the local chat may be used (V key). Either keep your guys close or loose contact! The communication between Squad leaders is only allowed when the radioman or another radio is in range. If the radioman dies his radio may still be used. Only discreet channels should be used (i.e. addressig single Squad leaders or the Platoon leader. Overall command channel should only be used for "emergency" broadcasts. If no radio is nearby, the command channel can still be heard due to game design. The radio message should therefore be ignored as long as no radio contact is established. No one life rule: Respawns are allowed. The overall ticket count is tracked and will affect future missions. Therefore the results of each battle influence the overall development of the campaign. (For instance the destruction of critical equipment (tanks, guns, etc.) can lead to lacking assets down the line). You can either register in Trakkkars Steam group and claim a role there or join in as a random. If the server still has free slots you will get a role assigned then. (steamcommunity.com/groups/TrakkarLP) Note: As for now the event is GERMAN ONLY. Because it is bad enough organizing an event for 80 people as is, the admins cannot start juggling languages. both, I would say, you're a lot more concise in tanks/armoured cars, then again you've fewer folk to command and you tend to tank with folk you know. in general your other infantry play tend to be lone wolf or in less of a leadershp role.

Yes, I agree. Feels more like sheperding with this many guys you have to coordinate, so I make sure to say everything twice and make sure everybody has the same informations. Thank god my squad was pretty disciplined, who knows how bad it could get if not... :D

need a game, that works like this. Team work, small squads, large areas, hard to capture, slow moving, slow paste. Arma is close but 2 big and 2 woody gameplay + lot of bugs. Games these days are too much COD style, and solo focused. Something between, Squads, Post S. and Red orchestra (arma)
