Thanks for sharing. I have an important query. How about the stiffness analysis of bolted splice connection when you make it say at 0.5m and you input the theoretical length the full span between column in both major and minor direction. I have did one for my project and the splice is showing pinned. Would appreciate if you explain this case

Dear Mr. Puttatt. Looking at your tutorials I really liked Ideastatica. Would it be possible to make a video showing how locate vertical and horizontal loads at a given distance in this same example. Model Forces : Node, Bolts and Position. Yours sincerely

Hello, the results that you got from IdeaStatica are different from the worked example that you just showed in 0.45second of this video. And the difference is almost 2MN/rad. Can you explain this?

KIndly make your question more clear. The hand calculations made with COMPONENT method obviously differ from IDEA Statica calculations. A difference of 2 MN/rad will not make any difference in stiffness classification of str. connections.

@@puttattjayarajan1199 Which part of my question is not clear? anyways, Months ago I solved that example and as I remember the results for initial rotational stiffness was approximately 6MNm/rad. The difference of 2MNm/rad will clearly have impact on bending moments distribution if we want to implement this procedure on designing some steel frame. Just classifying a connection has no practical meaning. So my question is, why there is a 2MNm/rad difference?
