Hello Thank you very much for the video. Modeled in IDEAstatiCa Connection ((Metal column-concrete connection (with anchor bolts)) connection, is it possible to open the IDEAstatiCa DETAIL and reinforce the concrete block? (without modeling in IDEAstatiCa DETAIL) Is there a video of what I said?

Would the software analyse correctly if you created a second concrete block and anchor the HEA240 beam endplate from the side? The two concrete blocks would graphically overlap, but considering that the blocks are nothing more than winkler model representations would it matter? Appologies if you covered this in your video, my german is not all that great.

About German, I record now also the new IDEA StatiCa Videos in EN and DE :-). This will remain also in near future. I don't think, 2 concrete block is the right way. Because the anchors have in one block interaction. And the anchors are cheked by formulas from Eurocode. The formulas dont take into account an interaction between 2 orthogonal anchors. I think espetially for the pullout of the concrete cone, this will not work. With 2 concrete Blocks the calculation would be, I think so, on unsafe side. I don`t think, there are formulas for 2 anchor sets over corner somewhere in the EN.

​@@IvanBeles Thank you for your answer, but I would like to clarify my idea more precisely. I completely agree with your explanation about anchors in orthogonal surfaces and see how the concrete breakout mechanisms would dictate the design in your case. I was wondering however, what would happen if I simply turned off all the concrete checks and only focused on the anchor controls (in order to obtain internal forces which I would than carry with reinforcement) or even one step further to only support the front plate through a concrete contact.

@@matejib-techno4415 Of course, it is possible in the software to place 2 concrete blocks and then ignore the anchor checks. The Engineer must be aware, that the interaction between these sides is not taken into account.
