For example, • Reducing the OZD of a contact lens decreases the sagittal depth, which flattens the fit of the lens. • Increasing the OZD of a contact lens increases the sagittal depth, which steepens the fit of the lens. • A larger OZD is ideal for centration and minimizing glare. • A smaller OZD can be used to combat lens flare.
