Hi.thanks for the tutorial. But I have a question I hope you can answer. Tks. The arrangement of the 8 wires are the same, in both the connectors. I use this long cable from the router to the wall socket, the faceplate that has "female-female" at the back and front. That is the standard cable is fixed to the "IN" at the back of the socket, and on the front of the face plate. A shorter cable can be connected when needed to say, a laptop. Now my question is the long cable has the 8 wires arranged as 1 to 8. But than on the faceplate wouldnt it be reversed 8 to 1?. Tha. Would the faceplate be giving the wrong connection to the connected gadget, in this case the laptop. Anyone can help me figure this out pls. Tks.

hi, your question is about the wall socket to cable, if you have 2 side wall socket ' 2 female' , then you just make the same connection , it will be working. but if you have one side male, the other side female' wall socket', then you should be careful, because the wall socket has the color indication, it should be up en down as your thought. cable 1-8, socket 8-1, but actually, the internet cable use only 1236,

Cable is indeed cat7, however because of the RJ45 connection it is bottlenecked and only has the capabilities of a cat6a connection. But again, he did say cat7 cable so he is technically right on the money. Once you make the cable with the connector you don't call it cat5 or cat6 cable, you refer to it as an ethernet or network cable.

@@williamcolon1891 what connector do you use for a proper cat 7 cable then? I ordered a cat 7 cable and pay for the price for it a friend's dog chewed on it and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it what do I need to get then if this bottle makes it to the same thing as a cat 5
