I think you are great. i put my gel press on a new acrylic sissix cutting plate. then use 2 old wooden blocks from old stamps at one corner and hold them in place firmly. Now I can my card or paper to but up to the corner and it lines up every time giving a clean border. The blocks can move away and put back again. I wondered if you could use this to come up with ideas. You are so creative. Gina

Success!! I purchased the child silhouette and recreated your first example. Happy 💃 dance. I cannot see where the white streaks and dots came from that show up on your paper at 5:57. Used were pink and blue which was prior to your cleaning your plate to roll solid white. I didn’t see any roller marks on the plate before placing the paper either. This is a perfect print on a birthday card for my older brother. Thank you.
@TeresaMorgan2 жыл бұрын
They are just marks from the paint 'bubbling' a bit on the plate.
@jeanpowell9812 жыл бұрын
@@TeresaMorgan I liked the streaks, I wish I could recreate that type of thing, and who knows with this type of art it could happen.

I think a 3x5 plate might be a good size to dip my toes into the water of gel printing. Love the gelato colours you’ve used. I’ve just been given a gift card for my birthday so I think I know where to spend it now.🙃 TFS

I’ve had the small plates for a long time but mostly they haven’t had a scrap of paint on them! Thanks for the ideas. I believe they will shortly lose their pristine condition.

What can you use the really small shaped ones you bought for? I'm unsure, do you have a video about them?
@debchambers85633 жыл бұрын
Hi Teresa. I just learned that they have come out with a set with lips, mustache, and a heart. There is also a set with a light bulb, an arrow, and a coffee mug. There are other sets too but those are the ones I’ve seen.

I love your techniques. I love the music you played and where did you find the little boy and girl template? Is it made of metal or heavy stencil material? I love how that particular card turned out.

Some great ideas, thanks. I just asked in a Facebook group the other day, which plates were best as I couldn’t help but notice the large price difference between Gel Arts and Press. I got way more in favour of the Press plates, which I already had one of, so I was happy to get them again. But as you’ve used both - did you find any noticeable difference?
@TeresaMorgan3 жыл бұрын
I noticed no difference at all. I will probably stick with Gel Press in future simply because of the lower price.
@heddadoyle42373 жыл бұрын
I notice that you sprayed the gel plate to clean. Is it just water that you used?
@TeresaMorgan3 жыл бұрын
Yes, just water, then I wipe with a paper towel. I do use a wipe over with baby oil at the end of each session - it helps lift any residual staining and keeps the plate in good condition.
@bfinchfrank3 жыл бұрын
When you are using the smaller plates on backgrounds larger than the plate, do you experience the edges of the print appearing too severe? If so, how do you manage or work with this?
@TeresaMorgan3 жыл бұрын
I usually trim the print then mat onto a contrasting background card.

I wish you would either leave the music out ( I don’t care for it) or at least turn it down. When it starts my ears are blasted out by the music in my headphones.

For the future please eliminate music especially with words. It frustrates the viewer who needs captions. Thank you. 😊
