IDEAS TO UPCYCLE OLD JEANS | HOW TO UPCYCLE OLD CLOTHES

Today, I have a very exciting video with over 25 ideas to upcycle your old jeans into new clothes from the fantastic creators at Pinterest. There are some really beautiful ideas in this list, and I’d like to recreate one myself.

#8 This corset looks really easy to make.
Cut off the legs of one pair of jeans. You’ll then cut them to the length you want your corset.
Next cut the seams off of one side of each pant leg to make a flat piece of fabric.
Once you have done this, sew the 2 pieces together to created one long piece.
Cut the piece the proper length to fit around your midsection, remembering we want the front to be open to show the garment underneath.
Hem the two ends, place your gromets and lace it up. Good job!
#10 It looks as though this artist used the top part of the jeans for the top part of her top,
and then cut the legs to fit around her arms.
12. For this look, you will either have to hand paint the design on the fabric or use iron on transfers.
Either way, you have some very unique jeans.
15. This skirt was made by using a light color pair of jeans and a darker pair of jeans.
The jeans have been taken apart and put back together swapping the waist lines, pockets, and base of the dress.
Leave the front open, and use some of the left over denim to close the back of the skirt.
16. What a cute little belt and wrap. There is definitely enough fabric in a pair of jeans to make this unique piece.
18. This corset top is really unique.
I love how the top layers allow for a curved seem to fit nicely.
And, I really like how the under bust area has buttons just like a pair of jeans. This project would call for three colors of jeans.
20. This beautiful skirt uses the top of a pair of jeans coupled with layered paisley fabric.
I like how the bottom of the skirt has various points at the bottom.
22. This outfit was made by taking a pair of overalls, and turning the bottom into a skirt.

24. The creator of this piece did such a beautiful job.
To make this yourself, use a bodes pattern, and then use several pant legs to make the rest of the dress.
Add vertical gathered strips to the skirt , and you have yourself a fancy denim dress.

#16 This purse was made from the top of a pair of jeans.
You could use children’s, or adult jeans for this project, depending on the size you want.
Either directly close the bottom part of the pants, or create an oval to sew to the bottom of the purse to make if more 3 dimensional.
Gather and apply you’re most beautiful buttons, ribbons and flowers to the outside of the purse.
Finish it with a natural cord lopped through the belt loops, as shown.

I like the bucket to with all the buttons and designs on it. I also love the skirts made by slicing the legs off of jeans, and then creating an entirely new skirt out of either a paisley or Georgette, or even linen, both skirts that come to handkerchief points and a skirt that’s just gathered and flares out both look gorgeous, and would love a tutorial on that I actually have a pair of jeans that I’ve cut and I’m like oh how am I going to add the skirt to this? There’s not a whole lot of tutorials on that there’s a whole bunch of tutorials on opening up the leg and adding another panel of denim to make an all denim skirt, but replacing the legs entirely with skirted fabric is some thing I don’t see quite enough of in the DIY videos
