They are getting old eventually, and could not sustain it's own weigh, plus incurable deceases and degeneration. On the country side we've chopped about 6 of them this year. It's really hard and heavy wood to say.

Thank you for another super enjoyable teaching video! Exotic woods created this beautiful puzzle. A wise use of an apple tree no longer able to produce fruit. Wenge (pronounced when-gay) from the Congo is more commonly called African Rosewood. Both woods are a true treasure to own.

This is an awesome puzzle! It reminds me of an android app puzzle game where you had to free all the pieces from the construct. What kind of puzzle group would you say this is? (like metal rods are wire puzzles... jigsaws, etc)

True and that is also the common name because it was the native central African name for it. The word was probably brought back to Germany through their Colonies.

Isaq Kampp Wenge, a dark colored wood, is the product of Millettia laurentii. Other names sometimes used for wenge include African rosewood(ambiguous), faux ebony, dikela, mibotu, bokonge, and awong.
