Er no, I found the offending app. I gave permission for a wifi speed app that had been backed up from my previous phone and then noticed a battery drain. I since removed it and all is well. Fully charged and 6 hours in standby battery still at %100. I have a mi max 3.

Thanks fort this tutorial. It really helped me to understand the inner working of my Android better. My battery's display showed the Android OS at the top at 15% compared to the 3% that I saw in the one you were using in your tutorial. I cleared the data in internal storage for Android and settings. I hope that this resolves the problem. After dealing with a CQAT virus that seemed was hidden in the apps on my phone. It had taken over my phone. Even though I disabled it I couldn't charge the phone or access the service. I found the app by looking in apps, clicking on the tree dots on the upper right and opening a secondary app section. CQAT may be hidden in some mobiles without the owners knowledge. It may even be that the hidden virus is a manufactures trick to ensure that the user will eventually upgrade when their warranty is out. I did a factory reset, rebooted it several times. Disabled and force stopped the CQAT Virus 2X, before and after the factory reset. It seemed to finally be working normally. I fully charged it before going to bed. The next morning, it usually would have been at 95%, the battery was at 59%! *How do I get the information out to main stream social media? People don't seem to be interested.*

I'm late, but I got a new phone running marshmallow and my android system is the biggest drain by far, right now I'm at 41% and Android system has drained 36% and Android OS 10% while the screen only 15%

That's a hard one to identify, because a lot of stuff gets lumped under "Android System" and "Android OS." It could still very well be a regular app that's causing the drain for the most part. I'd say start with the basics, though. Disable unnecessary sync options in Settings -> Accounts, turn off Bluetooth if you're not using it, set your location reporting to "Battery Saving," and things of that nature. Basically just go through the settings and disable anything that you think could cause battery drain. If that still doesn't get it under control, I'd look into GSam Battery Monitor. It's a non-root app that came out after I made this video, and it gives you a lot more info about what's draining your battery. I've researched this issue throughly, and usually the problem is one or a combination of these 4 things: 1) The battery inside your phone is loose and not making a good connection (there are videos on KZbin on how to correct this problem). 2) Not enough memory/storage left in your phone. If apps are closing randomly when you try to open them, or phone goes to black screen, or reboots itself, this is likely the problem.(Try clearing your cache for a temporary fix until you can delete unneeded apps, photos, files, etc to free up storage space. 3) The battery in your phone needs replacing. 4) Your phone has been infected with a virus or malware. (There are videos on KZbin on things to try other than a 'factory reset', which may be necessary, if nothing else works!

My Blackview P2 has a 6300 mAh battery, and when I bought 2 years ago I would have to charge it once a week maybe. Recently, I've noticed that the battery drains without doing much within two days, with no suspicious apps running or anything. The highest usage comes from my screen (15%) and second to that Wi-Fi which adds up to 10%. Nothing out of the ordinary I would say. Is this an indication of the battery going bad already?

Hi Im using a Motorola X force(Droid 2 turbo). It works seamlessly half the time. Rest it hangs up on me like im overloading. The commands follow late, the app might take longer to load or even it closes all apps and re opens them. Shops blame the old hardware. But I've seen better performance in lower end phones as well. Even when your phone is “idle”, it is still maintaining a signal with cell towers and syncing data. If you're in an area with poor coverage, it can make your phone work harder to connect, causing faster battery drain. A bad or failing battery can also cause thephone to drain faster than it should, even when idle.

Updates sometimes cause a glitch that causes rapid battery drain. Just take out your battery, wait 10 minutes & put it back in. Worked like a charm!

I got a Nexus 6p refurbished, and it didn't come with the Oem charger but it still says charging on A/C so it is powerful enough and it isn't a rapid charger. for few weeks it was fine and then recently my phone started dying even while charging. I would turn it off to let it charge and it would still lose charge, I go and view the battery chart to see what's draining and android system is at the top with 47% and screen is next with 41%. I downloaded that gsam labs app that you recommend on a different comment to see what that says.

Batteries don't last forever. Some start dying quite soon. Replace it when your huge battery drain is due to "system apps" or "phone idle" and when they are swelling.

Hi so i have a Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 and i have 4 apps draining will i uninstall the apps but when i reinstall them will this issue persist?
