the other day i hosted customs, advertising the fact that i was streaming, and two people said the n word in vc, and a third attempted in post match (though i have auto post off so i didn't see it and neither did my stream). when i hosted my next game, they kept trying to join until i denied them re-entry... pretty sure the trolls have just come to copycat now :( it's unfortunate.

When it started, the worst players were like those in Among Us (just vote for no reason), but now it’s getting bad. I have noticed that it is much worse from 9pm onwards (CST). Mornings have a lot of chill people still… thank God 😭

as someone who has played dbd for a while, I would say idv players take it a bit further usually salty survivors or killers will just type some insults in the end-game chat maybe a -rep on the Steam profile. It really only gets to the racism, homophobia, death threats, etc when facing high MMR players or comp and sometimes TTV (streamers) but most of the time nothing bad really happens.

I’ve been in matches where people were being full on racist. One custom cc match I randomly joined, the host was streaming on twitch and I felt so bad for that streamer since the person didn’t care about who was in the room, but only wanted to call everyone the n word. The worst part was the streamer asked the person not to use slurs and swear words, they said they wouldn’t, and they continued to do so.

That being said cc with vc is so awful because there's literally no restrictions, it's why i personally never agreed to having vc built-in for rank teams. Some nasty people are out there. So sorry yall had to experience that. Im glad in asia server we dont vc as much, even if the translator doesnt do it right sometimes ww

@@SaneGuy519 you honestly bring up a great point, because if nobody knows your race and the context it can be interpreted very negatively. That said, in standard, not custom with your friends, copycat, it’s probably not a good idea to say certain things. What happened in this match was very much just pure slurs and using it as a racial insult (since they also yelled out “I hate black people”). Which like… eww just get out why would you do this… However, certain slurs are used in different ways by the races they relate to, as more of a playful thing. All that said, I understand where both of you are coming from, but your approach is definitely the safest one since nobody really knows you or your race when you say something. Hopefully I’m making sense here 😭
