He's right, it's happening everywhere. Buildings with history, things that would stand a thousand years if you let them - replaced by some shitawful pile of glass and aluminium that looks like a cat's vomited it up. They'll stand 20, maybe 30 years and then be replaced by some other soulless kak. Even when I come across modern architecture I don't mind, it has a place - and that place isn't the centre of London, or any other city.

Yer pride in British civilization is evident, as is yer disappointment with the current state of affairs in London. You have earned a proper place in British history by now. Loved how you ended your tour on the rooftop at sunset with memories of Gunther Grove when you were young during your rooftop party days. Good times! Then the gentrification of London sent you over the edge...goodbye, cruel world! Then - surprise! - you popped back to life, like a cheerful, impish sprite - ha, ha, ha! Oh my gosh I love this man so much! Johnny rotten Johnny Lydon... Some people would be offended by the words he uses in the way he comes off the people but I completely understand what he means and I'm grateful to have been able to see this for the 1st time today. I lived in London in 2009 when they were building up a bunch of krapp around kings cross and I was disappointed then at the new buildings specially the one that looks like a vibrator! I went there for history stayed in the midlands West Midlands and had the time of my life. At least there most of the history is still nearby though they're building that up to. Said that

I agree with everything you say Mr. Lydon - "BLOW IT UP!" The bastards have done the same de-humanizing here in NYC. I was born and raised here and I don't even recognize this city / my neighbourhood anymore.

Same thing is happening in Chicago where I live, they're building a bunch of new disgusting soulless glass buildings everywhere, they're making every city look the same and it's really sad

Takes an Irish Man to be a true Rebel, which his Father was. Obviously not bigoted.

Nothing wrong with being a rebel against an oppressive government, but when you blow up innocent women and kids you deserve nothing but contempt

He is the reason I packed up my Rickenbacker bass and flew to London from New York, as a 20 year old, in 1980 to spend a summer jamming with like-minded folks.
