Wonderful tribute. I love when Jim Peterik discusses his wonderful relationship with Jimi. Jim's songs were perfect for Jimi's voice. I absolutely love everything Jimi sings (and listen to his singing daily) and I have a huge respect for Jim's extraordinary musical achievements.

Jimi was a remarkable man, god was he funny and such a jokester. Beautiful soul with such a incredible heart. Yes he had such an extraordinary voice. Truly one of the best vocalist in the world. He was so humble with his stardom he didn't see himself that way. He was so down to earth and you saw his heart instantly & felt it too. I am grateful and blessed to have had such a friend in him. I miss him everyday. He just had this amazing way about him. He will never be forgotten. He lives on in our hearts, our memories and his songs. God bless you Jimi, you are so loved by many. Hugs to heaven lots of em..

It looks like drug addiction got the best of him which makes me so angry and sad at the same time - not at him lol but at addiction in general. Drugs are a liar and a thief so don’t believe they’re tempting ways. Thanks to Jimmy forever for sharing his beautiful, wonderful voice and great songs.

Absolutely Angel. I've written a few comments but always stumble around not wanting to say to much but usually do because Jimi was such a "magical" person. We were close for a time but we "passed" on the opportunity to become closer. He was headed up. We talked about it and having a Naval Officer father could remember the words, " stay mum on some special things for it can end in a blemish upon that thing......hold tightly instead to the "thing" , keep it, it will forever be there and cherished by all who knew". Yep, my dad was 100% correct. Never did a word pass my lips until recently that Jimi and I had once been friends, became closer friends but incredibly respectful and protectful of one another. For that reason, there was not ever anything to regret, only memories and an " unnamed relationship ". We had what we had forever, always between us only. It was better that way. We didn't really have a "story" so why risk the opportunities for rumors. After the " us time" which was brief, close, not physically anything even remotely interesting unless holding hands, ruffling my hair ( or me doing it back) looking at each other and thinking or talking....so many thoughts shared. Wonderful man, spiritually more involved than some would think. He married Brenda, I married as well. He had Amy...I waited several years to have my first. Coincidence brought Brenda and I together at a place of employment. I photographed, she managed my appointments. Never did I breathe a word. Why interfere her loving marriage with such things. Jimi often picked her up at night from work. A quick wave through the windshield or a quick smile and wink. No more. He dedicated his life and time to music but family was first. Thank you Jimi for the Music. I'm still in Memphis. Last saw him in 2012 at Neil's on open mic night. Yes, he used the mic. RIP. We all loved you.

My name isn't Kathy. But I was accually born in Texas. My father was a Naval Commander so we moved ALOT. We were stationed in Millington a few time but way back then we usually lived in Frayser when Dad was Aviation COA at the base. In 1972, for the first time in my life I had the opportunity to graduate from a school in which I started 3 years prior. Dad got orders to Iceland and typical teen I begged to stay here. Surprisingly, my parents talked and my father went to Iceland alone for a year. He was to retire with 30 years of service at age 47 so only had a year left anyway . So he returned home in April of 1973 He retire in May of 73 and I graduated in May of 73. My boyfriend was in a band , thus met Jimi. Then another few friends went to Messick including the man I married. I went by Kate or Katie or Kay. I know my husband and Jimi were a few years older, I think Brenda may have been younger than me. I'm not certain, she was very sweet. Jimi & I just were attracted to each other. No formal relationship, some visits or alone talks & developed a deep respect for one another at the time. That never ceased to be. He married, I married, he had Amy then I had a daughter. We only saw each other occasionally when he pi ked Brenda up from work or my husband and I went to see him play. Jimi passed away about 3 years before my husband. We had last seen him at East End Grill. It was a loss for the community and the music industry. He never got caught up in the "fame" ....or if he did I missed that part. Just a well rounded, internally nice person. Nothing superficial. There isn't much to say about us. We semi gave it a try but all the prices were not in the right places. My dad talked to us both. He could see Jimi was possibly going somewhere & I was younger. We were encouraged to consider everything. ( my Dad probably scared Jimi in retrospect but my father was a sweetie, long hair, musicians, things like that didn't bother him.) Anyway, I'm not Kathy but am from Texas originally. Coincidence? Maybe.

@@MielR There were also two dates of his death. August 31st and Sept 1st. He died September 1st at his home. He had been posting photos of Dave Bickler and Dennis Rodman to his page of previous shows he had just done. He also posted a video of his granddaughter Lola performing that he was very proud of. He and I had emailed each other a few times, I saw his posts, but after my last email he had not responded. I thought he had gone to bed. I later learned from a mutual friend he has passed on. Jimi was a remarkable man, beautiful soul. Giving, kind, funny, humble, genuine and had such talent, but what heart. That is what I will remember.

Jimi Jamison had a very powerful voice that can never be replaced. He touched so many hearts of his fans. It is truly a shame that we lost him so early. I know it's been over a year since his passing ,but it still is hard to believe that he is gone.😢 I believe that if you listen to his music that's how you can keep his spirit alive. I know I still do. I love to hear his voice .

+Christy Kaples, When I found about Jimi´s death I felt that I lost somebody really close, kind of a dear friend from my younger years, I agree with you, the best way to honor him is listen to his music...but even more, pass it along to our sons so they can appreciate a truly unique voice.

Then what they consider music today. when I found out about his death it practically brought me down to my knees. I know eventually it would have happen, but I never expected it to happen so soon. We seriously lost one of the best icons of music way to soon.He might be gone ,but he will NEVER be forgotten .

Such a big loss in the music world! Jimi was one of a kind. A beautiful voice who could hit those high notes with ease. I was so upset when I heard the news. Back in ‘84, when he joined Survivor, I heard their music and I thought, who the heck is singing this? What a voice! Thank God for MTV, and I saw the video for the Search is Over, and my heart did little pitter pats. Not only could this guy sing, he is gorgeous! I ran out, bought the album and listened to it over and over. I couldn’t get enough of him! Fast forward to 2014, and my world shattered along with millions of others. The Search is Over. God took our Jimi home. RIP. 💔😥
