IDF Oasis Risk Explorer - v1 Tropical Cyclones

The IDF Oasis Risk Explorer is an accessible, open-source risk modelling tool that can help educate a non-specialist audience on the fundamentals of disaster risk management and pricing and complement the existing suite of Oasis LMF catastrophe models. Its development is funded by the Insurance Development Forum (IDF), a public/private partnership between the insurance industry and international organisations.
This tool provides an entry-point to probabilistic risk modelling for those interested in disaster risk financing solutions in low- and middle-income climate-vulnerable countries, while avoiding the barriers of cost and complexity that characterise the commercial catastrophe modelling market, with a specific focus on parametric risk transfer solutions.
This first version covers tropical cyclone risk, however, all perils globally will be implemented in a following version and will be released ahead of COP 27 in November 2022.
