Not all homeless people are addicts and drunks. I got injured, couldn't work for a year, spent 6mos in the woods. But I always kept the camp orderly and took my trash to the dumpster. Trash is the biggest reason nobody wants them around and the first thing to draw attention to their site

I lost a live oak tree during a hurricane in 2020 , I planted it when it was 1” in diameter and that was 30 years ago! When the hurricane hit and uprooted it, the base of the tree was 44” in diameter! The rootball was 12 high in the air with the tree laying down! I was sick because it was such a healthy and good shade tree, I was so upset that I wasn’t thinking about firewood or anything when the guys came over to clean up my debris! I lost that big oak tree, a cedar, a weeping willow and 9 pretty good size pine trees! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋🏼✌🏻

I would be willing to bet most of the homeless folk you're seeing in the warmer months are there in the winter too. The reason you're not seeing them as much in the winter is because they're in shelters where it's warm. Once it's not so cold outside, sleeping outside becomes tolerable again...

Devon, Just a thought for you... if you're going to do.more of these jobs, you might want to consider adding a waste reduction shredder to your arsenal of toys. SSI Shredders out of Oregon might be the device youre looking for. Their shredders would shred all of that material down to a single haul for your local landfill. Plus those shredders don't care about wood, nails, steel tubing or anything. That entire homeless camp would fit in one 20 Yard dumpster.

Homeless camps up in the midlands have grown a lot as well, especially in the Red Bank/Lexington area. This region has seen explosive growth in new home construction to accommodate the exodus of people from up north. As a result, whenever a plot of land is cleared for development, they have to do the same thing you're doing in this video and perform an almost HAZMAT-level cleanup of the land before it can be surveyed.
@Paintedplaty2116 күн бұрын

I have watched your videos before, but it was weird watching you clean up an area I don't live far from. It is one thing to be homeless but another to be trashy homeless. I have family members who are homeless right now in Myrtle Beach, and it's sad, but they have burned their bridges with the family. You can do so much to help someone, especially those you love, but when it comes to helping and they still steal from you and do drugs on your property its time to cut the strings. It is so much nicer driving by the areas that are getting cleaned out. No seeing half dressed people who are dirty and don't seem to care. These areas are not far from the beach. Go and wash off in the water, wash your clothes. I've helped in the soup kitchens. One was close by there years ago. It seemed like an endless line of people. Thank you for doing such a great job cleaning all the trash and shrubs out. Once the shrubs are gone and the trees thinned out, they go and find someplace else to live.

Myrtle Beach attracts homeless because of the climate. Milder winter than up north and not as hot as Southern areas. Seasonal businesses like this one become winter camps. No one should ever be one paycheck from homelessness. If they are, it means they are spending foolishly. The people I've known who are one paycheck from disaster always waste money on unnecessary vices like booze and cigarettes, expensive concerts given by the latest pop band that will be forgotten in a few years, stupid toys like dirt bikes and such, not to mention the fact that they don't take care of the things they buy so they always end up having to replace items long before a responsible person would have to. I tend to ignore the weasel words and sly phrasing which implies that 100% of homeless people are good upstanding citizens who are merely the victims of circumstance instead of their own vices. There are people who don't want to be homeless and are motivated to change their situation. Horry county has social assistance programs available to help those individuals get back on their feet. They tend to find success if they manage it. Alternatively, there are people who choose to live in a drug or alcohol-fueled stupor. They will create the type of mess you see in this and other videos on this channel. WWJD? You'll have to ask Him. Until you've managed to speak to Him, perhaps you'll take the initiative and house those homeless at your place to set an example for others to follow?
