I'm a banjo player. A lot of what he was doing were using pretty standard bluegrass rolls for banjo. But assembling them into order for songs like this in a cover...he basically had to reverse engineer the song and teach himself to play it. Not easy. And all of the musicians had to do that. Using runs they are familiar with, but reassembling them in a way that adapts to how different a song like this from bluegrass. These cover and pickin' on guys are pretty much the peak of musicians. It's not at all easy, and I couldn't do it like this I don't think. Not without a LOT of work.

My little brother gave me thier Fade to Bluegrass cd, I was an instant fan. I don't think they have covered one song that I dislike. Thanks little brother!! I miss you every god-damned day!! I'll see you again soon enough, It'll be awesome to play with you again. It took two years before I could even look at my guitars without breaking down. I got it now though, it just took me time to figure out that playing music is the only thing that makes me closer to you! I love you! R.I.P. Jason

Kris Nelson Kentucky bluegrass has its background influence mixed from Irish, Scots, European, And African blues music. But it's a very young American genre of music from around the 1940's. Yeah, there's always been music from the immigrants that came to the mountains around here, but that's not bluegrass. Bluegrass is purely American, mixed from everything.

Yeah… I hate bluegrass!!! So, if you take away anything from my story, PLEASE just let it be, “do NOT let the lady you love around nobody that plays in a bluegrass band!!!”. Your relationship may very well suffer the same exact fate as mine!!! I still cry like a big ol’ baby every time I hear a bluegrass song!!! 😂😂😂🤪🤪🤪💯💯💯

I was a pharmacist at the time (now retired) and on my days off he and his helper would be in another room working and listening to nothing but bluegrass on their radio. At first it drove me crazy, but after a couple of weeks, I kinda looked forward to hearing it. Then the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou came out and well I've been listening to and loving bluegrass ever since. This is a wonder cover.

I'm Scottish and Irish my grandmother's maiden name is McIntosh and I recently became a Covenor for Clan Mackintosh of North America. I play bass and acoustic guitar and used to get together every Friday night at a friends house where 20-30 musicians from every genre would get together and take turns jamming with each other. There were a handful of guys who were bluegrass musicians and I never had respect for the music until I saw and experienced just how hard it is to play true bluegrass. Great cover! This one and the Thunderstruck cover are a great melding of different elements

+Rooster Blue I think what he means is this is music they are performing from raw talent. No computer generated over tracks. No voice altering technology. Just some talented guys playing music how they enjoy playing it. one does not need to be a bluegrass music fan to appreciate the quality with which they play.

The Miracle of KZbin strikes again. Just think how hard that would have been 20 years ago, small band, great recording. Now, you here one song and instantly can find all kinds of stuff. Billy strings you can go back and see him playing with pops in the living room. You should check out this David Bowie cover. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX2kZoiIhdSKhNE

Bluegrass has not been around that long by name but it's rooted in what they call old time music. the appellations was first settled by the Irish so if you lesson close you can hear Irish folk music in it. I like the older bluegrass that is in three four time. Some times just how a song is played can change the sound. example: Mountain Heart playing whipping post. They are a Bluegrass band but some songs they mix a little old style Blues with it.
