"A London bridge came falling down, I saw you through the flames. And for a second I convinced myself, it's better if I stay. But what would you have thought of love if you had watched us burn. Would you grow up and think a bridge on fire is what you deserve" That line is poetry. Wow!

This song makes me cry so much because it reminds me of my parents' relationship. They have always had a difficult marriage and have been separated at one point for three years. Things are getting really bad again, but I know that no matter whose custody I get put into and no matter how bad things get, I love them and they love me.

I'm so sorry about your parents'. This song reminds me of my parents' too and it makes me want to cry. They started out sweet and loving, it was the most beautiful days of our family before things changed, I was only four when they divorced and they kept it a secret from me for five years.

This made me cry... My sister and I are the daughters of a disfunctional family where there is no love left but hearing this words gives me hope for those who are/will be in the same situation and makes me belive that there is always a chance to have a civil relationship, maybe for my family too, even after 10 years of devorce (still going on...). Thank you Idina, that is all I have left to say ❤️

Being in the midst of a divorce, these song lyrics hit home. I cried tears tonight when I listened to you sing it on the James Cordon show. Beautifully sung Idina. Regret from a failed marriage, but love for our children created from it, and needing to leave to show them that this is not the way love is supposed to be. That they can have a true love.

Idina is definitely one of the best singers out there and although I'm a big fan, I will make some objective comments with the goal of providing feedback. The reason why Idina became famous worldwide was, I think, because of three songs: Defying Gravity, For Good, and Letting Go, all amazing, powerful, empowering, and inspiring songs written by someone else. The music is also extremely magical. The combination of these songs with Idina's stellar voice made it 5xs more powerful and magnificent. Barefoot at the Symphony in Toronto was elegant, the way she sang was breathtaking, and the music was phenomenal. Tons of people have watched this concert on KZbin. The reasons I stated are not the only explanation of why this concert was historic : the choice of songs, by far, made a tremendous difference. Listening to her sing all these songs and offer this unique concert raises the bar for people who admire Idina. The expectations are high for many. I've listened to some of the songs from previous albums and I believe the majority were written by her. Not counting this new album, I honestly got dissapointed. Not only she didn't take advantage of her incredible voice, but the lyrics were definitely lacking many important qualities for a song to be good. Just to mention a few... so many lines didn't rhyme. Not only that, but it seem the content was poorly written, with phrases that didn't have a true meaning and/or are not supposed to be there. The depth of the passion and emotions that a songwriter, like her, should express, was lacking considerably. Her true and powerful voice was not embedded in these songs. I think I listened to 15 songs and I never listened to them again. The vast majority didn't belong in the radio and, for those that did, could've still improved dramatically. Now, about this new album, I can say there has been a big difference between before and these songs. However, there's still room for a lot of improvement. It seems as if those with experience in good quality songwriting didn't provide feedback. There are still lyrics that could use help to make them "flow " better. The music, in some songs, can also be improved substantially. The videos of the songs that were posted are too simple and could be magical even if tons of money are not invested on them. Creativity is really needed in them. I do wonder if Idina has sung something written by other songwriters and singers (not covers). There's still so much that can be done to exploit Idina's voice. There are average singers that can sing beautiful and deeply moving songs they write. I believe in this case it's the opposite. You have a singer with a spectacular and powerful voice, but average songs. Again, there has been improvement from previous songs compared to the new album. I can get what she is trying to express in those lyrics, but getting input from several songwriters will help her make those songs absolutely incredible. There are lots out there with high expectations, many only knowing her because of Frozen and not necessarily because her songs are in the radio. Singing some duets, too, might be a good idea.... but in order to involve another artist, the songs must be uplifting, powerful, and/or deeply moving. The video she posted with the girls at the camp could've included parts of what she recorded with other creative and interesting ideas. Again, she is one of the best singers out there and her voice is amazing. Hope this provides some feedback.

I remember when my parents split up. I was 7, and I understood that them splitting up is better than then staying and just not connecting, as in front of us. But, I think the reason kids get upset when this happens is because their parents are each part of them, so if they split up, it feels like each parent is ripping away parts of them. And when my parents found new people, it felt worse, because they replaced that part that they tore from you.

From a psychological standpoint you are very correct! Until age 12 approx genetic understanding is “I am 50 percent of my mother and father“. Regardless of how you may talk with your child, deep down they feel that way. That’s why my interactions and opinions of my ex husband are very deliberately supportive and will continue that way. My baby needs a childhood without that anxiety and self doubt because lord knows our journey in adulthood is inevitably much harder

Jack and Jill went up the hill, a bucket full of dreams When the morning came, they carved their names into the cherry tree But the hill was built on quicksand and it all came tumblin' down So they held onto the only thing they couldn't live without And here you are the best of us With a bigger heart than the rest of us I'm so sorry I couldn't give you the perfect story A textbook happy ending Where nobody here gets hurt But don't you worry Your daddy and your mommy May be a little broken But not our love for you Oh our love for you Can move the earth Ooh ooh ooh When London bridge came falling down, I saw you through the flames And for a second I convinced myself, it's better if I stay But what would you have thought of love If you've been watched us burn Would you grow up and think a bridge on fire is what you deserve And here you are the best of us With a bigger heart than the rest of us I'm so sorry I couldn't give you the perfect story A textbook happy ending Where nobody here gets hurt But don't you worry Your daddy and your mommy May be a little broken But not our love for you Oh our love for you Can move the earth Oh the earth And I never had to wonder I don't regret what we've been through Don't have to look no further The answer's here it's you

My parents separated and divorced like 16 years ago and my dad became a deadbeat and is off with his new family. Haven't seen him in over a decade. I honestly don't really think about it anymore or care really, but this song is so beautiful and the words just trigger so much emotion and a sense of loss. But nevertheless that's the beauty of Idina's voice and lyrics and it can move you. If I ever get married and have kids in the future and my marriage doesn't work out, I never want it to affect my children. Divorce can be so ugly and it's so unfortunate when kids are put into the middle of it the way I was. I wish more and more parents getting divorced listen to this song and understand it and learn that when it comes to your children, you should do your best to not let the divorce affect them negatively. Maintain that safe and comfortable environment for them. Don't let them see you fight and argue. Don't bad mouth each other in front of them or pit them against the other parent. Thank you, Idina!
