I watched Beaches for the very first time last nite & never heard Idina sing until now ! The tears flowed when she opened her mouth! Idinas voice is like an angel!!!! You hear that high note at 3:05 when she sang "you are the wind beneath my wings" and 3:35 that always get to me. The chills. I fell in love with this song when I was 5 , singing it for graduation but hearing this version from 2017 made me love it more. I actually love Idina's version.

I used to watch Beaches as a kid, and still do. What a sad and beautiful film. Although it came out the year I was born 1988, I still love it. Idina's rendition of this song is just as beautiful as the original. Man, can't believe I've never heard either version of this song before (well I heard part of Idina's cover in the Beaches commercial). There are so many masterpieces and works of art that I discover so much later than their original release because they were made before my time.
