I have this and my chest is starting to hurt a lot. I,have had broken ribs but I never smoked. My father did & my brothers & sisters. I think I've had this for a few years now. My last Cat scan said it hasn't spread. That was a few weeks ago. I have not had any other signs yet, like Fingers or toes swelling up. The only thing I have is shortness of breath I take everything one day at a time. There is not much you can do at this point. I do not want any medicine, I think it does more harm then good.

Gloria Wood Please stay on top of your doctors. Do not let them separate your appointments by six months. Make sure you do the physical rehabilitation, do as much as you can to stay as healthy as possible. You can beat this! God bless!

Claudia Arevalo my mother had this as well. A way to demonstrate this to folks who may not speak English as well, would be to show them a sponge on one hand, and a piece of lace with many holes in the other hand. The sponge represents a healthy lung. It's dense and it can hold a lot of oxygen volume. But as pulmonary fibrosis takes over those holes in the sponge get larger and larger and larger and the lungs end up as filled with holes as the lace. You can imagine that the sponge would hold a lot of water and the lace will not. Now exchange the idea of water for oxygen. You can get a lot of oxygen into a healthy lung, not so much into one that is covered with scar tissue from pulmonary fibrosis and is now filled with holes like lace.

My mother went to see a network chiropractor - it's a very gentle technique that helps your rib cage open up & you start breathing SO MUCH BETTER! After 3 months she went back to her pulmonary doctor and he told her he had never seen anything like it - she had a 14% increase in her lung capacity!!!! He said whatever you're doing keep doing it. I told her about this technique because it really changed my life. I hurt my back and didn't want any of the cracking stuff but then someone told me about this gentle technique and it's been amazing on so many levels. My mom is one of eight girls and three of them have died from this disease. If anybody needs help finding a chiropractor who does this technique just hit me up here and I'll get back to you! It's not about taking medication - that only makes things worse! God bless.

I stopped the progress of this insidious disease by using high quality Manuka honey through a nebuliser, following information sourced from Professor Peter Molan of Waikati University, in New Zealand, who is a world export in Manuka honey. Within 2 months of using a nebulizer my coughing had reduced 98% and within 6 months the disease was no longer progressing. I was diagnosed in 2007, and 15 years later I am still here.

@@polaris7122 let me tell you something this is absolutely bizarre. When I tell you, I literally never wrote that post. I’m not kidding! I don’t know whether I have been cloned on KZbin or what- very very strange I would never agree to putting honey in a nebulizer not ever!😳 I’m going to delete it now and I’m so glad you responded because I don’t know what in God‘s name happened there!

Rebecca Phillips, fibrosis is a progressive lung disease and interstitial neumonia is some type of infection in your lungs. What can of job you have? Do you smoke? Try to eat garlic every morning Is the best ally for lungs disease
