10:23 I DoorDash on the side and they do only pay around two dollars base pay but all the delivery people know exactly what they’re getting paid you don’t accept the job hoping to get a cash tip cash tips are nice, but you never expect to get one makes me wonder how many of these videos are real

$2 is on the company he works for. Tipping is not required nor should it be. Companies need to pay their employees a livable wage. I literally don't order food because the cost + tipping is just too much. That guy shouldn't deliver if he acts like that. It's literally theft. He's stealing their food. That $5 tip for that small delivery, wtf the dude want, the literal cost of her order as the tip? LOL I'd be calling up the place removing my tip for the rudeness.

Makes me very happy to live in a country where tipping is an option for good service and delivery/wait staff gets paid fair wages. If i paid for my food AND i've paid a delivery fee, i'm not tipping anyone unless they go above and beyond. US tipping culture is kinda outrageous. They underpay staff and just put the burden on the customer, so that the workers can get mad at the customer for not tipping them their salary, instead of being mad at the employer for exploiting them.

Also most delivery for food is a curbeside delivery. Now I seen lately that you can pick curbside delivery or door delivery. If you choose door delivery then it cost more. So that one driver was correct when he refused to bring it up to the apartment. Most of the time we just leave it outside of door and leave, we do not even ring the bell. Unless it is curbside, then you pull up wait 5 minutes and leave with their food if they are not out there in the 5 minutes. Then you get to keep the food and eat it yourself. Those are the rules.

Sometimes crappy delivery drivers make you come up. I once came up on 7 full bags of groceries. Grilled free burgers

Yes all the food delivery places do NOT pay well. DoorDash only pays 2.75 for each trip plus the tip. So if you do not tip then drivers will only make 2.75 for your delivery. Not to mention that alot of the restaurants are never ready when you get there to pick up. So you may be doing a trip that takes 5 minutes to get there, wait for 20 minutes to get the food, drive 10 minutes to the house. So that is 35 minutes for only 2.75. Heck minimum wage is more than that. Not to mention the gas you are wasting and putting miles on your car. Just to do a normal trip that would take 15 minutes (5 minutes to get to restaurant, get food within a few minutes, drive 5 minutes to house about 1 mile away. That would cost at least $5 at min wage and $1 per mile wear tear. So tips are needed if you are to lazy to drive yourself to the restaurant. Also most drivers are not going to accept trips that pay less then $10... So you may not get any driver to bring it to you if you do that and not tip. Drivers now do not do McDonalds much anymore because we know that people who order from McDonalds do not tip 99% of the time. So basically you would get 2.75-4.00 to do a delivery 1-5 miles away and waste up to 30 minutes of your time. Not many drivers at all will do that.

@BigJT246 the point of delivery is the company paying them for that position. If they need that tip that much, either make it mandatory or the company can pay them better. People are struggling with money too. The point of a tip is a generous token. It doesn't have to be everytime one orders nor asked for or it's no longer a tip, it's a fee. Accept it or don't work in such jobs. It's shitty and unfair, but it is what it is.

Most of these people acting up because they didn't get a tip are probably the same people who don't tip at restaurants.

You never know someone's situation. They might work as a delivery person for pocket money (not need it for survival) or because they need it Same for non-delivery people, having a nice-looking house does not always mean they have a sustainable income. They could be in debt for all you know. Be kind and non-entitled.
