Mana, here's a little story of me and Hbomb; Around 2009-10ish, when a mate of mine invited me to the London anime con (the one held at the rocket complex next to the London Met Uni) and from what I remember, couple of us SomethingAwful goons were there including Porklift and Wateryad (they used to do LPs and acoustic music stuff), Harris (Hbom, who at this point was trying to be a writer) and a few other goons I forgotten, one from scandinavia. We met at Camden high str. and took to the con from there. I hate anime cons generally and I was pretty bored, so when Harris suggested we pull a prank on a regular goer to the con by the name of D. (don't want to share his real name tbh), who was a bit on the spectrum and a child-like fellow, I really didn't object and since I was the only one with an American accent, he suggested I go in as a representative of Square Enix working on a remake of FF7, pretending to scout for voice actors. D fell for it and we just messed with him a whole bunch, every time I got bored with it, Harris would suggest something new like business cards, getting his contact details and just plain humiliating him by making do all kinds of voices (including Tifa). I got bored with it eventually left when that one band started doing rap songs over Megaman tunes, but the events of this day was something I specifically remembered. I need to find the archive copy of that post too. He sent me a couple of his scripts and books he was working on and he seemed to have a good grasp of writing even if his stories were boring as dry shit, but I really can't be bothered to post them. Maybe he'll do it himself one day, but you're not missing much.

My unsolicited opinions on a controversial issue: I do not see transition therapy as a valid treatment for gender dysphoria, in general I am very skeptical of any surgical treatment for a mental condition save for when the issue in question is a product of injury to the brain itself(tumor, scar tissue, foreign material, etc.), especially when the treatment in question is an attempt to make reality conform to the delusion of the patient, which could be dangerous if the patient's desire to change themselves is a product of subconscious self-loathing that maybe further exacerbated by reinforcing their desired self-image. I also take issue with the nature of the treatment itself, among other things the removal of the reproductive organs & sex glands, important links in the endocrinal system, & its subsequent replacement with artificial hormones known for having harmful side effects, most notably the heightened risk of potentially fatal blood clotting; there's also the fact the surgery as it exist at the moment is virtually irreversible in the sense that transitioning back will still leave the affected party permanently sterile & thus the inability to reproduce means that this treatment is also purely cosmetic. I would prefer that persons suffering from dysphoria should receive counselling to feel comfortable as themselves rather than subjecting themselves to this "treatment" largely being pushed for political reasons by professional activists who I honestly believe don't care one iota about the people they claim to represent.

The guy who played Father Ted (Dermot Morgan) died in 1998 at the age of 45 due to a heart attack whilst hosting a party the day after filming the last Father Ted episode. I can understand being tired and wanting to knock this all out in one go, but please consider redoing this video. You make great points, and bring up a lot of shit that deserved to be uncovered. But with how this is put together it makes it easy for someone to dismiss and there are maybe a few too many spots in the audio for someone to point out as some kind of "gotcha" moment and claim you don't know what you're talking about (which is exactly the thing someone would expect from Harry), and that's the last thing you or this video deserves. Otherwise, I enjoyed the video regardless, I just want it to have the reach it deserves with the right presentation.
