⁠I don’t know where you’re from but in Canada extra testing is required before you can go up in drivers license class. Anyone with a driver’s license can drive a car, but if you drive a bus, semi, etc. you need higher classes

Ontheroad, Distraction is 100% the reason. they see it but are distracted with phone, or thought, etc.. some accident in the highway you can see clearly they were sleeping, some maybe texting.. The biggest reason is not speed per se, it is allowing enough distance (to have longer reaction time) .. stay safe

People do suffer medical emergencies behind the wheel - blackout due to brain haemorrhage, cardiac arrest, hypoglycaemia, epileptic seizures, drugs….that’s not to say it’s not their fault. Glasgow, Scotland 2014: Harry Clarke lied about his medical history, he knew he had suffered dizziness when driving but kept it secret, drove his truck onto a footpath mowing down pedestrians and killed 3 people.

Yup... two people up in my neck of the woods did not make it home this morning. Apparently one person in a BMW was looking for some racing action, travelling a 45mph road at (reportedly) speeds up to 130.. t-boned an innocent driver and both cars went up in flames...

He did brake. It's really difficult to tell because the guy in the pickup that caused the cutoff also braked. Was likely aiming to make a last second decision to turn right at that traffic light and it obviously proved incredibly costly. Either way, the red pickup is 100% at fault for that. Should have turned at the next light or made a legal U turn or turned around in a parking lot.

I can concur that 99.99% of these were caused by complete idiots. The amazing part is that you can see that often as not the idiot ends up involving not only another vehicle, but often times 2 or more innocent victim vehicles as well. This is the reason I have stopped driving aggressively completely. I used to feel like I trusted myself, etc. but after being on the road for decades, you realize the issue is you can drive as near perfect as possible, but if you don't leave enough time to account for complete idiots you are going to get in an accident. This video also reminds me I need a camera for myself and my wife in case anything happens. Looking at a few of these where an good driver reacts fast enough to avoid a bad driver, but unfortunately puts themself in a bad situation that causes a less serious, but still accident, and without a video tape to prove you were the victim, that idiot driver is long gone, and you're going to be blamed for the minor accident without video proving you had no chance but to choose a lesser accident then a major one, and the original guy who changed lanes directly into you, or pulled out last second in front of you is the person who not only fled the accident they caused, but are 100% libel for what happened... Going on amazon to buy my wife and i a dash cam...

Please, slow down during bad weather (rain, snow, fog) increase your following distance, put your headlights on & during fog use your hazard lights on(its easier to see you)put your phone down & pay attention to what you are doing & those around you. Last year 2023 I drove over 108,000 miles. I did it by paying attention, not texting & driving. During bad weather I was more cautious. Better to be late than dead.

A few weeks ago, I saw a giant 4x4 traveling way too fast in a thunderstorm with low visibility. He hydroplaned and got sideways in front of a semi. Fortunately, the semi driver was driving cautiously and was able to stop in time. I really thought I was going to see someone die that day.
