Evening gentlemen, well done to Orlando Pirates for the emphatic victory and taking advantage of Arrows' lack of effort. Arrows didn't do their homework. They didn't know where are they going to attack us from, they just came to honour the fixture. Lebitso's side was there to exploit because he always played high up the field in order to stretch Arrows' defence. For me playing Timm and Makhaula was very unnecessary because we ended up with a crowded midfield when Dlamini drifted inside to allow Lebitso to run the line and make those square passes to Mabasa. I initially thought it was gonna be better to take off Timm and have Saleng or Kimvuidi on the right wing then have Dlamini and Maswanganyi as double CAMs. This would allow Lebitso to concentrate on defending rather than running high and tracking back the whole game, it's exhausting. Another team would have overloaded that side in order to make him tired (or have a player cheating there) so that they could get a goal. Arrows only did it once and it worked with that single goal. However I think maybe Lebitso should also be considered a winger (since he is naturally a winger) and have a right back behind him to cover rather than having him run up and down. As opposed to Saleng, he is good with making those runs behind and square passes. Today's line up worked but it's not ideal.

@@thembadibane26 You are raising a good point. If opponents play a low block we tend to struggle. I think in that case Lebitso should be allowed to drift inside since he has a powerful shot to shoot from outside the box. We can get a goal, a corner or a penalty from those shots. That can lure them out to come and defend us from outside. And if that happens we can start playing to find Mabasa running free in the box.

Solid from the bucs. Defensively we were found wanting from time to time especially in the first half. As the game progressed OPFC dictated terms which lead to them playing the ball behind the defensive of Golden Arrows. Lebitso was fantastic down the flank , Tito, Kabelo and Timm marshalled the centre. Great to see Makhawula back in the field of play. Mofokeng was great down the left hand side and the runs behind the Arrows defense. Mabasa knows how to position and finish in the box. I forsee him scoring 15 goals in the PSL

Wish we'd understand there are lots of reasons for changing lineup. Stats, fatigue level of players, type of opponent playing against, performance in training all contribute to changes with lineup. Different strategies for different games influence changes too. Analyst department now is able to identify with DATA who needs rest when to avoid muscular injuries. Also, just because a team wins, doesn't mean every player played well. Individual analysis plays a role on who's selected next. A player may not have played according to instructions/plan or was off form irrespective of winning or losing. Its a team sport, but individual performance is not ignored just bcz a team wins. Games aren't the same... There were changes in this game again, but not alot is said bcz we won.
