She means that if a person is Sikh, it does not mean their ethnicity is Punjabi. My paternal grandmother is a Tajik Sikh. She was born in Afghanistan before marrying and settling in India eventually. My maternal grandmother is a Kashmiri Sikh. She learned Punjabi in her early teens when she began to study the Guru Granth Sahib, but her first language was Kashmiri. My paternal grandmother can also speak Punjabi, but she grew up speaking Farsi and Urdu more. Also, the former PM Manmohan Singh is a Sikh whose ethnicity is Punjabi. Hence, she did not contradict herself.

I am not an expert on this. But still I experienced a difference between Punjabis living in Punjab and the ones who live in the predominantly punjabi dominated West Delhi localities. I think that the urge to go for a fight or to dominate got mildened in the former after the years of violence and police and military action in 80s & 90s in Punjab. But the later did not have their spirits broken during those times. I dont knw the impact of the changes in Delhi on them...frm Chole Kulche refugee Punjabi dominated Delhi to Litti Chokha Delhi!

Delhi population is 2 crores out which 12-14 % are Punjabis irrespective of the religion. Punjabis in delhi migrated to the city after 1947 partition from WEST PUNJAB which is now in pakistan.The majority youth in DELHI who identifies themselves as punjabi does not know anything about punjabi culture. I don’t personally hate bongs but i felt that the last video where debiparna was sounding rude towards the north citizens by mocking some of the north dishes which might have offended them and that’s why they made this video. I am a medical student, and one of my mentors is Bengali. He is a wonderful teacher, but very down to earth and never hesitates to listen if we disagree with his treatment approach.

More than bashing Bongs, it almost seems like a rant against the things which Debiparna had said in that particular video. Even though they all work for the same channel, perhaps their interpersonal relations with one another is not so good, which is manifested through these videos of bashing each other's cultures. And honestly, I feel Kusha could have come up with some better comebacks, other than "Roshogolla causes flatulence", like ROFL, we get that you're frustrated and trying to speak up for your culture, but at least come up with something that could be factually true and potentially insulting to that particular community which you're targeting to diss. Otherwise, you just end up sounding lame, helpless, juvenile and immature.
