Honestly, KEXP brings a very different vibe to a lot of these more energetic bands' performances. Reminds me of Viet Cong/Preoccupations set. So much more tense. Also, Colossus's slower tempo here is interesting to see.

Although it was with totally angry and heavy lyrics before, times are different now, and these guys are talking about the love, liberty and socially accepted communities, seeking for that justice, peace and love. It's more so that punk grew to express much more than just contempt and frustration into much more varied and nuanced ideas. Which is a perfectly natural way for music to progress. It’s great when all members of a band have their own personalities - even better when they’re clearly enjoying what they do. Thanks for this, KEXP (and for the Shame session, too). Outstanding, energetic performances. Get Sleaford Mods on.... 👍🏻🙂

This band it's getting the right people pissed. In a world with bands who doesnt give a shit, with despolitized lyrics or trying to hard to be cynical, Idles it's a bleesing
@DarkAngelEU5 жыл бұрын
So much this. We need relevant bands that aren't there to be another Bowie without adding anything into the mix. IDLES is fucking amazing. Last show sucked, not because of the band but the crowd being amazingly passive. Can't wait for the next time they come around, it's gonna be a very small venue so no safe spaces for critics and social media floggers to hide from the pit >:)

We saw them the same day they filmed this. After filming this they drove up to Vancouver and did one of the best gigs ive ever seen. So much energy, and utterly captivating. Every song had the crown bouncing, which is saying something for a Vancouver crowd. Before the gig we bumped into Joe ( in Pats Pub on the Downtown Eastside ), who was having a sneaky pint with his Canadian family. He happily sat and chatted to my wife and i. What an absolute guy, what an absolute band. Tickets have been bought for Seattle next year!!! LONG LIVE IDLES.
