I've written/recorded and performed in many bands (including one or two quite well known ones) and been a working musician for over 30 years. This band has got me as excited as I was when I first got into music via punk rock. I fucking love the textures and shades they are creating, plus the energy and passion with which they deliver it. I am 52 years old now and never thought I'd be inspired by bands & music again, with the same intensity I was when I was 8 years old getting my face torn off by The Pistols, Damned, Clash et al. Stood next to these, everything I have written recently sounds dated, stale and irrelevant so I want to thank IDLES, for giving me the huge kick up the arse I needed and for inspiring me out of my comfort zone and into trying new approaches to writing. You've given me a second wind and I love you for it. Thank you so much x

To get another album, and one that just has so many absurdly great bangers......if I die tomorrow, just one more proof that I’ve been blessed. Grounds is a song that is what I call a litmus test song.......play that song, test it on anyone....don’t care if they like it or not, but it will move them....if it doesn’t......shake their hand and politely walk away.
