The way joe tries to justify throwing away the chocolate milk at the end is how my brain works all the time, always trying to figure out a way to feel that whatever I've done is ok and not wasteful or bad for the world somehow. You can tell that deep down he still feels guilty for wasting that milk however he tries to justify it. That's the feeling of our generation that is.
