Can we appreciate for a moment the Israeli Arab community for 0 (ZERO) incidents? As far as I know, no emergencies, no killings, no pogroms, no fires, no nothing. I live in Haifa and since 2017 all or most of my neighbors were Arabs. I saw no hassle, no threat to my person here EVER, and frankly I cannot really comprehend, I cannot fully imagine my city and my neighbors going nuts burning wheels and killing people. My doc is Arab, the whole Downtown is full of Arabs every night, you can cin-cin with Christians and share a good phat blunt with Muslims (if you're up to, it's not a necessity) and have a conversation. I understand that if I will see an intifada I will not be able to erase it. My perception most likely will be changed by that. But since I never saw it, I never saw Israeli Arabs as enemies. And I'm grateful for that.

As an Israeli, I greatly appreciate all the soldiers who serve - on duty or in the reserves (I also did) - but it is important to emphasize that the political position the two soldiers presented, which speaks of a "Greater Israel" and a return to the settlement of Gush Katif area, is a political position that only a certain part of Israelis believe in and support. I, and many like me, do not. There are various reasons for this, which I will not go into here. The terrible situation that Israel found itself in, following the brutal massacre that Hamas conducted, resurfaced more prominently these ideas. This does not mean that they are justified - morally or security-wise.

As a Lebanese Shiaa Canadian from southern Lebanon, I hope that all these wars will come to an end one day and that we can live together as brothers. The saddest part of all these wars is that it's a family conflict, since we're all related (Jews and Muslims), especially today's Shiites of southern Lebanon, the vast majority of whom are Mizrahi Jews who converted to Islam.
@MM-bt8ke
@MM-bt8ke 7 ай бұрын
I am Mizrahi jewish israeli from north israel. (City of Nahariya) where saluki was filming. You are 100% correct. I don't see Lebanese as enemy. I did my genetic DNA testing and 88% of my genetic was Levant (Israel/Lebanon) the other 12% was turkish (probably from ottoman empire colonization period of our 2 countries). We are for sure brothers from different mothers. I think many nights how will my life be different if only I was born 15 km north of My house today, that's already inside Lebanon. I live closer to Beruit than I live to Tel Aviv. Our people were all phonicians many years ago; and stupid poltics and borders divide us! Shalom alcheem (peace be upon you in hebrew) to you in Canada and any family you still have in Lebanon. One day, we will see peace between our beautiful countries.

Interestingly, a genetic study found that more than 50% of Palestinians have some Jewish DNA. During the Arab Conquest, a lot of Lebanese, Canaanites and Jews were converted to Islam and lost their identity.
@danielcarvalho1453

I'm interested in the last statement of your comment. I was always under the impression that Lebanese Shia Muslims shared roughly the same genetics as their Sunni and Christian neighbors. I'm aware of Canaanite ancestry in Lebanese people, which Jews and Palestinians have in common with the Lebanese, but I've never heard that the Shia Muslim population specifically descends from converted Mizrahi Jews. Do you possibly have any sources pointing to evidence of mass conversion from Judaism to Shia Islam in Lebanon? I would really appreciate anything you can offer.

@cospway The southern Shiites literally do the same style prayer songs as the Mizrahi (tonality, rhythm, melody) its litteraly indentical - what's more I did a test of taking a Shiite song and a Mizrahi song and I couldn't tell which was which before they start speaking Hebrew and saying Israel... Then there is the DNA - all the Shiites I know who took a DNA test discovered that they were at least 20% Mizrahi.
@danielcarvalho1453
@danielcarvalho1453 4 ай бұрын
@@alichahadi5788 I was going to say the music in prayer could be just a result of cultural diffusion, but the DNA result really surprises me. I'm a Damascene Jew in the US, and the Syrian Jewish community here includes many Lebanese and Egyptian Jews. When I tested with AncestryDNA my results were estimated at 72%-100% Levantine and 0%-2% Sephardic Jewish (from the Iberian peninsula). These services are known for not adequately testing Jews from Arab countries, but judging from my family's lack of Spanish customs, I probably descend from Musta'arabi ("Arabized") Jews who have been in Damascus for 3,000 years rather than Spanish Jews who fled the Inquisition, who tended to immigrate more to Aleppo and the rest of the Mediterranean. I'm currently reading a book called "Wadi Abu Jamil: Stories of the Jews of Beirut" by Nada Abdelsamad, and it's fascinating how diverse Beirut's Jewish community was. There were Musta'arabi Jews who lived there since forever, along with Sephardic Jews who fled Spain, and Ashkenazi Jews from Germany (most notably Dr. Shams, who was a German-Jewish doctor famous for charging patients only what they were able to pay). Lebanon has 29 Jews still left in Beirut and many Lebanese Jews living elsewhere visit occasionally. I pray we all overcome divisions manufactured by colonialism and heal from Zionism and its false promises.

I live in this usually quiet small beach town which is about 10 km from lebanon border. As an israeli Jew living in north israel, we live with many muslim arabs, Christian, Druze and Bahai and we are all Israelis! when Hezballah (in the north) or Hamas (in the south) shoots rockets, they attack all of us equally. I often think about what if I was born 15 km north of me (inside Lebanon) how would my life be any different. I wonder what is life like for people there?. These poltics, wars and hate due to religious differences are so stupid. I think what If we all just got along. We can drive to eachothers countries, try different food, see different ways of life. Laugh together, watch football teams play against eachother. Children can play with one another. What a wonderful world this can be. This is not our conflict, our generation didnt start this, we inherent these stupid circumstances. If we continue on this path, we will all get old and our children will have to deal with the same bs we did. We may not started this confict, but we need to end it as our Legacy and as a gift to our children to live in a more peaceful world. To all my Arab neighbour's in Lebanon, i know your life has been hard with your corrupt politicians, bad economy and terrible bomb accident in beruit all in the last few years. But stay positive, Shalom alcheem (peace be upon you), and stay safe through these hard times. Don't let's Hezballah destory your beautiful country!! Shalom from your neighbors in the south.

2:22 - Terror Attack in Nahariya - 1979 At this place on the 22nd of April, 1979, a group of terrorists snuck into Nahariya. After a short battle on the seaside road in which policeman Sgt. Eliyahu Shachar, aged 24 was killed, they broke into the house on 61 Jabotinsky St. and took Dani, aged 31, and his daughter Einat, aged 4, as hostages. The mother, Smadar, hid together with her daughter Yael, aged 2, and a neighbor. During the escape Dani and Einat were brutally murdered. Yael perished during her mother's trial for escape through hiding them in secret. Two of the terrorists were eliminated. Over the years, the terrorists and their operators were killed for different reasons. Smadar was the only one who survived the attack. The simple answer for why soldiers on the beach is to defend against an invasion or other terrorist threats coming from the ocean.

Israeli people voted right wing government most likely because of security threat (Palestinian terrorism) towards them. Had Hamas not terrorized Israel last October 7, there would be no war. Its a cycle actually, Palestinian will terrorize Israeli civilians, IDF will fught back. Palestinians will have more grudges against Israelis, Israelis will have more fears so they will tighten security. Then the Leftist media will magnify the situation and pro-Israel will support Israel and the cycle will go on. Hamas and Palestinians should stop terrorizing Israelis so that Israel would trust them.

It should absolutely be returned. Why let a population of Nazi supporters stay there. There are Palestinian polls done periodically that shows consistent 80% support for Hamas in Gaza. An Arab from Gaza who left and converted to Judaism said 99% of them support killing Jews. This is the land of Israel we will not tolerate Nazis amongst us any longer

Well, both Hezbollah and Hamas are supported by the Iranian government. So really it’s a proxy war between Iran and Israel. I don’t include the Iranian people because they are separate from their government and most of them are very good people and they don’t want this war. At least the Iranian’s I have spoken with. Israel supported us during 9/11. I support Israel. Mostly I pray for PEACE!!

So disheartening hearing those soldiers talk about a greater Isreal. Just like the Isrealis expect the Arabs and Palestinians to accept them (and they should, as a Muslim i believe the jews have a right to a safe home) the isrealis will have to accept that the Palestinians are there to stay and not going anywhere and offer a prospect to a better life and self governance

You are an uncontainable spark in a world too often dimmed by caution-you're audacious, irreverent, and gloriously unapologetic. It's spirits like yours that have the power to weave together the frayed fabric of our shared humanity. Let's remember, we-Semitic people of the Levant, whether Arab, Muslim, Jewish, or Christian-are not just neighbours in geography but cousins in lineage. We all originated from the same cradle of humanity, a cradle set in the heart of Africa. Millennia have passed since our ancestors journeyed from that shared starting point, scattering to different corners of the Earth. But in the process, we've forgotten the undeniable truth of our common ancestry, our intrinsic human needs for connection, empathy, and love. Reclaiming these truths, living them daily through acts of kindness and love-that is the key to fulfilling the promise of our collective humanity and peace on earth.

While I appreciate all the people who wishes peace and prosperity to every country and nation in this region, it's very sad we are not allowed to state any truth here at all. If we do, the comment will not even be posted. The real truth that will wake people up and will bring the end to this endless conflict and instability. Keep in mind, that if you think that some comments from people who are taking sides in this conflict are revealing the truth, then you are deeply mistaken. Even some rational sounding comments, they still technically take a specific side one way or another and thus are far away from the truth. Well, in this comment, I kept any specific keywords down to a minimum. Let's see if at least this comment gets posted.
