One thing about this scene that I don't hear people say often enough is that it's kind of self-defeating. It's supposed to be all "girl power" and female empowerment, but like... The only reason it happens is because Peter says that Captain Marvel couldn't push through Thanos's goons by herself. The woman who single-handedly destroyed his warship by flying through it, and literally one of the strongest people on your team. And yet, apparently, she still needs help from all the other ladies because... She's a lady too?

If it was Carol tearing through the army to suddenly get overwhelmed by Thanos and the Black Watch then maybe this scene would have worked, but for all these women to assemble in the same spot while the entire fate of the Earth is at risk seems pathetically funny to me. The "girl power" scene in Infinity War was much better because the powerful woman ACTUALLY needed help unlike Carol.

As oddly framed as it was I saw it a lot more as the girls just rushing in to help Peter just cause they all wanted to as opposed to needed, as well as kick some tail for getting erased. My main curiosity though is minus executive decisions and boardroom decisions. Why did so many girls suddenly decide to help the spider kid half of them barely know? It'd make sense if this Peter was well known but he unfortunately really isn't, especially not amongst the likes of Wakanda and Sokovia
@chocochibcookie40352 жыл бұрын
Its never implied she needs help, yeah Peter says she does but peter has literally never seen captain marvel before. Its less of "oh this girl needs help so lets help her out ladies!" and more of "we have one shot at this so lets try and help". idk your point just doesn't make much sense because captain marvel could probably do it on her own
@GoldLight732 жыл бұрын
@@chocochibcookie4035 If that were the case, then why is it only specifically the ladies who show up to help? If it was just about trying to make sure Carol didn't blow her shot (which she ultimately did) then maybe everyone should have chipped in to lend a hand in keeping Thanos's goons off of Carol... Which, again, she didn't need, as you yourself just admitted. In-universe logic aside, the subtext remains the same: "Look how strong and capable these women are when they band together." My argument is that the scene is self-defeating because the girl power message falls flat when the strongest woman there needed other girls to hold the grunts off her back. Meanwhile, moments prior, the guys were taking turns running through the battlefield solo, passing the gauntlet off to each other as needed.

American actress Elizabeth Olsen shocked the world with her testimony about Serbia. She was in Serbia and “recommended” that no one should ever go there. “Actually there is nothing unique about Serbian because they have only been their country for about 13 years. They have nothing of their own, they just take away from those who have occupied their land at some point,” said the actress, who is obviously not a fan of Books and education, but no culture. “Serbs have no manners, they talk non-stop,” said Elizabeth. What everyone noticed was the host’s laugh as he listened to the actress make scandalous statements. Incidentally, the interview with the actress was published on KZbin in 2020 and is now being distributed on social networks. Then the actress tried to “justify” ; herself, but continued to bury herself. - It’s a very interesting place. We filmed there 6 days a week and only had one day off. It is particularly interesting that nothing belongs to them there, as the country was only founded 13 years ago. They are a combination of everyone who ruled their country before - she said and showed that in more than four months in Serbia she has learned nothing about the history of our country. However, it is evident that not long ago in 2012 actress Elizabeth Olsen forgot what she was talking about when she was in Serbia because the film “Teresa Raken” was being made. Little was known about Elizabeth Olsen’s stay in Belgrade, as the main job of the production is to protect the stars as much as possible and not to bring them into contact with the media during filming. The latest backlash, though, stems from Olsen describing Wanda Maximoff as a gypsy, which has been deemed offensive to those of Romani origin. Even though a kiss between man and woman is shown all the time. But now, Disney owns so many franchises and so many other studios, that not everything they make can be family friendly anymore. That's like if HBO would buy Disney (somehow) and they would start to make everything more violent and sexual. There are some genuine concerns about the long term effects of the vaccine, and so far all the governments around the world have done nothing but discriminate against the unvaccinate. My vaccine works perfectly fine whether anyone takes it or not. She has every right to an opinion and honestly the Marvel actors should try to reach out to her and talk to her, instead of insult her in public. Edit: Also the idea that everyone should be vaccinated for the world to go back to normal is absurd. The government is not your parents and we himans have a right to go outside and live our lives. Sure, the scene itself is fine within the context of a superhero movie, but the problem is that it's true: None, or very few, of those characters actually had interactions prior to Endgame, and in the 5-year time gap there wouldn't have been much, if any, fighting other than killing Thanos except for universal beings like Captain Marvel The point is that teams like that only work once members are aware of each other's powers and fighting styles. The male heroes DID earn their scene, Avengers 1 comes to mind: The whole movie was spent with heroes fighting, arguing, and building connections, to finally overcome those differences and join together. Nothing like that happened for this scene, and the time of Endgame's release combined to make the internet tar it with the wokeism brush. To be fair, Endgame's plot and the movies beforehand offered very little to allow the same sort of setup, but they could have handled each character's respective strengths and had small but noticeable team-ups in the battle before culminating in the large, team-up scene we got

It's not about you, it's about everyone so stop being fucking iresponsible and then complaining Same with vaccine, you prevent everyone from finaly being able to live normally because you're dumb enough to refuse to be treated then obviously your choice will have consequences You're not special to the point where you automatically DESERVE to have a say about things bigger than you, especially when you're choice is dangerous, stupid and inconsiderate

@@haiqal5333 Thats because the world narrative for the vaccine is that you SHOULD take it , doesn’t matter how many shots (even tho at the beginning of the crisis they said the first two shots have you 98% protection. Now they gon say oh it’s because of the variants blabla) it takes. It’s not even about your health no more since the governments all around the world are taking basic liberties from civilians who aren’t vaxxed and made it so that vaxed people (like masked dude in the video) are starting to blame unvaxed civilian for the variant and the virus still going. That’s very reminiscent of 1939 Germany where germans denounced jews to the authorities. I’m sure if there was a bounty on non vaxed people then it would be civil war in our streets

@CesarGameBoy.Ай бұрын
It’s so funny because Infinity War has a similar scene with the same message that was so much better handled. Scarlet Witch was about to be killed by the woman elite person as she says something about being alone. This is followed by Black Widow saying “she’s not alone,” as she and Okoye square up to assist Scarlet Witch. It makes sense both in universe and metaphorically. Scarlet Witch wasn’t alone because Black Widow and Okoye were there on the battlefield to help in time. And Scarlet Witch wasn’t alone because Marvel was growing their female cast of heroes, *and* it was the first female MCU hero who says the line. In Endgame however, Captain Marvel has the gauntlet as every single other female on that entire battlefield just happens to show up and badassily walk towards the distance. They don’t do any large fight with all of them, they’re just there and gone the next scene. I think a big factor is the size of the roster. In Infinity War, it was 3 women. In Endgame, it was like 15. You can get away with a smaller group banding together in the middle of a battle. But the larger the group, the more unrealistic it is. If they walked together at the beginning or end of the battle, it’d make much more sense and feel a lot better. Imagine stopping what you’re doing, see a large group of people who share your genitals walk towards something, go join them, and then leave to go back to what you were doing. It just doesn’t make sense.

However, she then wrote several messages on her Twitter profile showing that she is shooting a film in Belgrade all day and that she is very fond of the city

You don’t get why she couldn’t just “look it up, yada yada” but black people have a bad history with the medical field from the Tuskegee project and Henrietta Lacks to name a few. No one is dwelling on it, but it’s a known fact that we have a reason to not trust the medical field.
