I get that Vecepia's notebook and the various flags/banners as makeshift tarps give an "unfair" advantage, but I still think it's sad the casts were stopped from bringing luxury items. They always give such good insight into the players themselves - whether it be a bible, soap, a cardgame, etc.

“What is it about Texas that makes Texans like this.” As a Texan, I feel obliged to answer. Texas’s history is unique amongst the 50 states. Unlike most states, which were either colonies of the UK and rebelled against it alongside one another, or were settled by the US on its westward expansion, Texas had it’s own revolutionary war with Mexico. After its revolution, it was an independent country for ten years before being added to the US. Shortly after, it dipped to join the Confederacy, before once again joining the US. Because of this, Texas is very insular. It retains a lot of State Pride on the same level as national pride because it WAS a nation for a time, has its own history separate from the US, and thus many Texans feel more connected to the state than the country.

Lets be real, these NEED to come back, they should be able to bring whatever they want, with duplicates to make it fair. There should be a condition that all items will be abandoned at tribe swap. It would make early game a lot more interesting and fun like normal, while late game would be just as intense. It just adds a whole other layer of potential skill.

Honestly would love to see LI’s make a comeback (either as a reward or at the beginning of the game) since they give us a better idea of people really early on. From the journal we can tell visepia (very underrated winner)was here thinking 10 steps ahead of everyone,with James and his idols you can tell he is here to redeem himself,and with the more recreational items like cards and instruments you can tell who’s here to make string bonds and relationships in the game.

If I was on Survivor and could bring a luxury item, I would bring one of my machetes. I would use it around camp, but the choice wouldn't be about practicality. It would be because I would want to be known as the person who chose a machete for a luxury item knowing my tribe would get a machete anyway. I don't think I would compulsively sharpen it like Matt did in Amazon, but I would definitely carry it around with me all the time including in confessionals, and I would want to be associated with machetes in general on the show, just like I am in everyday life. I would even consider playing under the nickname Machete instead of my real name. It would be amusing because people who know me online could watch and be like "holy shit it's not just some online gimmick. This dude really does have a weird machete obsession"

What makes Texans like this.... you'd have to be a Texan to fully understand our ways. The stars at night are big and bright CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP Deep in the heart of Texas!!!!! Born and raised Texan here. We're basically our own country and have our own culture here. I love being a Texan! We have cute accents, and our Mexican food and BBQ are the best. People are overall very friendly, and it's just a really great place to live. :)
