This is my second time watching this series, and I remember watching this first episode the first time and it all seemed so silly, until it gets further along in the story. But rewatching it now, knowing what will happen and how amazing both groups of friends are, I just start tearing up when hearing Toh's friends recite 'the rules of a secret crush' because it is so true. This series truly turned out to be such an important show, even though it seems "campy" at first. I'm so glad I continued watching it and I definitely encourage those that are on the fence when they see the first episode to also keep with the series - it's really a special one.

@@minmin4842 I actually just finished the series today and honestly loved it more than the first time. It starts off more cringy and silly but it's also a story that has turned the common side characters in other dramas - the ones typically used for comic relief but nothing more - into main characters, so all that campy/cringy silliness typically expected from the comic relief characters in other dramas is now in your face because they are the main leads. The friendships are truly beautiful and endearing, and the relationships are 🔥. Plus the series truly touches on a number of social issues going on in the world, both lgbtq+, as well as body and beauty standards.

The scene with the friends saying rules about a secret crush I relate to a lot. When I was in school I would always crush on some guys and even though my friends supported me and would say we’d make a cute couple at the end I knew it was impossible anyways. It’s fun and everything but when you really like someone and it’s pretty much impossible to be with that person because they are not your type or straight.
