This being the longest segment of the episode feels earned in a way that the lead characters’ characterization through their home life, in one dinner scene alone, allows so much insight on how and why they act the way they do. Mon’s parents are understanding and kind and it even extends to Sam whom they also have not known or seen in a long time. Mon’s mother’s wish for Mon “to become strong and patient” feels like it’s going to be her journey moving forward, and she manages to immediately push through that journey by standing up for her co-workers on her second (!) day at the job. And yet how ultimately her strength is also rooted in kindness, seeing as how Noi’s stomachache motivates her to speak up. Mon is kind but it doesn’t completely make her a pushover, Auntie Mhee even remarks that Mon is cheeky after having earned herself a future favor from the proclaimed ‘eyes of the company’. She sets her boundaries well when Nop jokes around in trying to woo her. Her kindness shows in different ways, but it shines in almost everything she does. Whereas Sam is the opposite. When Mon was met with kindness and understanding, and listened to when she spoke her mind, Sam is the opposite. She carries responsibilities and burdens she doesn’t even want to participate in. She isn’t heard, and her struggles become and remain hers alone. Even Kirk doesn’t seem to take the issue at hand as seriously as she does. Sam goes back to an empty house to punctuate her loneliness. In the crushing weight of a looming deadline, she becomes desperate and cruel to everyone around her. A spark of intrigue makes her gravitate towards Mon, who feels undeserving of the sudden displacement of a huge company project. It’s such a good contrast between the two, and such a good starting point for their budding character development (and romance lol, but that’s a given).

@@blankii3 I’ve been writing little commentaries in certain parts of each episode here and there. Not as extensive as this though, seeing as the characters are still on this very journey moving forward, the budding romance on the recent episodes do move the plot a bit more quickly compared to when they were individually fleshing out Mon and Sam, which just goes to show how integral they are to each others’ essences. I still stand by and believe in Mon’s quiet strength, and how that’s really what drawing Sam to her.

It is weird that when I first watched this series, I thought Freen’s acting is not good. But after ep 5 and back to watch everything from the start, now I understand how personality Khun Sam is and her back story, I feel Freen’s acting is not regconized enough. The storyline is somewhat similar to The Richman's Daughter. The only thing I dont like in it that The Gap filled in is the depth in Sam's personality as compared to Jade. Despite both character's tough situation, Sam is more complex than Jade. She is tough, she doesnt easily show her emotion unlike Jade. TRMD is a very nice series.. i love how The Gap story line is going...first time bingewatching this.

Assistindo depois de conhecer as atrizes, percebi que eles colocaram várias referências da vida real delas. A Becky realmente ama chá com leite, a bebida que o Nop dá pra ela, a Freen disse que ela toma toda hora nas filmagens, e a Becky é torcedora do Manchester, o time que o pai dela fala na mesa que eles vão assistir muito, e também tem nacionalidade britânica e tailandesa igual a personagem dela. E na vida real, a Freen tem e gosta de vinil, igual a Sam. Muito bom, eles prestam a atenção nos detalhes.

If you notice since the very first episode....khun Sam has hairs on her arms ( not shaved ) and on her neck as well ( the baby hairs). You can literally see the goosebumps she gets in the closure scenes with mon as those baby hairs are erected due to goosebumps. On the other hand, Mon is having clean shaved hands but got baby hairs on her neck. Mon's pupils are dilated in many a closure scenes. Her lips are palpating. Sam's tongue thing, that little neck tilting of Sam everytime she gazes Mon...these all are natural i guess apart from acting. They can literally feel it. Their closure scenes disclose a lot about as their hormones are acting on the peak. No wonder Freen is doing what she believes...to do realistic acting and to be a realistic actor who can make you feel like ......❤️ And Becky....the young baby can literally speak with her eyes only. Her gazes and acting are too notch. Kudos to the person who recognised their chemistry and potential. ❤️❤️
