Yeah I grew up in Vegas. You'd be surprised at how cold it gets in the desert. Also your videos give me hope that I too can learn Arabic. Also thank you. This series helps me as a new revert. My life was not going well for a while until I started saying little things like alhamdullilah and Bismillah before meal, I then began asking Allah for help. I prayed and Prayed but nothing happened when I prayed to others. Only when I prayed to Allah did things begin to change and become better.

5:20 the concept that your teacher is pointing out in ikhfaa, is that you have to prepare your mouth/tongue at the starting point of the makhraj of the letter that youre doing ikhfaa of. Meaning if I do ikhfaa for geem, then I need to be familiar with the positioning of geem If I would want to pronounce it. That starting position needs to be holden in the ikhfaa, so that when you finish doing the ikhfaa, you immediately pronounce the letter geem.
