You don't need to hold the blinker throughout the lane change, he looked a little awkward doing so, a simple short press will do the job.

If you’re driving on a road with faded markers suddenly, and driving assistant pro can’t see lane lines, what happens? I have a Volvo now. It gives up steering control with NO AUDIO WARNING! Extremely dangerous. Is BMW driving assistant pro on the ‘21 X3 smarter?
@garykahrau42914 жыл бұрын
If someone cuts into your lane, does the car slow down gently the the set distance? Or doe it do a harsh brake? Note, the car entering you lane is going at your speed or slightly faster. Acura MDX is Harsh and Audi Q7 is smooth like I was doing it myself.
@mjar37992 жыл бұрын
can we still have any control over the car while the automatic lane change is on?
@BMWofFW2 жыл бұрын
of course, it will temporarily resist but the second you hold your own resistance for more than half a second it deactivates and lets you take over.

if u havnt done so already it is very easy to freak people out with this because not alot of epople are aware or beleive this is where the tech is in 2020 i love the the feature and trust me it is way to easy to fall asllep at the wheel with this feature and wake up like wow!! lol scary but very well made so i feel safe evan tho it wasnt the intention.. to fall asleep also yes my hands were on the wheel enough to engage the steering wheels response that i was still engaged.

You can lightly press your knee on the wheel and it works just fine🤣

Hi. 2 questions. So, the Light Elements feature is that the lights on the steering wheel spoke light up if one does not keep hand pressure on the wheel? Under no other circumstances? Should they both light up at the same time? Or is there any time that one will light up and the other won't? Lastly, have you been having any problems with the Driving Assistance Pro system not working in the rain? Thanks for a great video!
@davidemmett81725 жыл бұрын
I’ve read that there is a “medical emergency” feature as part of the driving assistant in 2020 models that puts on the hazards and pulls the car over if the driver loses consciousness - I’d assume the car would only know this by way of the driver failing to tap the wheel, or by way of the face camera some have mentioned- is this true? If you fail to touch the wheel when prompted does it simply deactivate the driving assistant, or does it actually pull over?

similar but not the same... Honda Sense has a lane keeping assist and an adaptive cruise control. It doesn't provide a visualization of the surroundings, blind spot steering intervention, or auto lane change assist. It's the more eco minded version of BMW's DAP Package. - JP Dunphy

So I bought a 2022 x4 m40i with driver assistance professional pkg however it does not have a drive function in the menu. Also can u confirm if front collision avoidance is a full braking and at which speed does it work?
@BMWofFW2 жыл бұрын
So drivers assistance professional package is primarily a highway use system that allows for lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, 3D visual representation of the driving condition and cars around (think tesla's autopilot view)., and traffic jam assistant.
@BMWofFW2 жыл бұрын
the front collision avoidance/braking is at city speeds below 40mph.

I'm lacking the "Displays" setting on 2020 530e with Driving Assistant Plus but no HUD, is there any way to change the Maps view to Assisted Driving view in the Live Cockpit Pro?
@BMWofFW3 жыл бұрын
in your idrive on the left hand side, under Car>Displays you should see an instrument panel option within that menu you should have an option for the different display options for the center of your Live Cockpit.

Lane departure warning is one of the most annoying features ever. My 2020 7-series wants to correct lane changes every time when I don’t use a blinker. Nobody uses a blinker on California highways.

you can turn it off with the settings just push the the button that looks like a car with a green circle around it. located near the hazards :)

Hi, the optional package itself is called live cockpit professional its available in select models 2019-present day

On other videos (possibly from Europe) i see there is a 'face camera' which detects whether the driver is paying attention to the road, and uses that information instead of the hand on the steering wheel. Is this option available in 2020 "Driving Assistance Professional Package" for X7 in US? or is intermittent pressure on the steering wheel the only way to satisfy the system to stay in Active Cruise? Secondly, once the Active Cruise has deactivated due to lack of pressure on steering wheel, what needs to be done to re-activate it? is it a button to be pushed or more commands than that ?

How to drive without ever putting your hands on the steering wheel: Get one of those stress balls that you use to squeeze with your hands and wedge it on the corner of the steering wheel. Trust me... it'll work. not admitting to anything, lol......
@dailyrant40684 жыл бұрын
It's just hacking the system and if it crashes it's your own fault. This is the reason why you see Tesla crashes and what not, people not using the system as intended (no, not how Elon Musk describes it but what the manual actually tells you to do) These systems are meant to be level 2 autonomous driving, which are ASSISTANCE (BMW accurately terms the system without inflating the meaning for marketing purposes, kudos to them)
@de_stroyed4 жыл бұрын
@@dailyrant4068 I'm well aware that it isn't a driver replacement but manufacturers like BMW are confident enough to roll stuff like this out which means that it's pretty safe to use. They put code into the system to keep reminding you to put your hands on the steering wheel so for the slight chance a collision occurs whilst using the system, they can't be sued and use the "putting your hands on the steering wheel warning" as part of their many evidence that it shouldn't replace the driver's awareness and it's the drivers responsibility. The cameras are monitoring your eyes anyway in this car, you shouldn't be nagged to touch the steering wheel every few seconds, it just gets annoying. Touching the steering wheel every few seconds doesn't make using the system any more safer, they just do it for legality reasons.
@memajek3 жыл бұрын
@@de_stroyed easier way, just lower the steering wheel close to ur knees. it will pick up the pressure. no need for hands then. ur welcome lol

@@memajek Why use your knees? Using your knees may cause strain as you have to lift up your legs. My idea is much more relaxing.
