This shows the animation logo idents and TV news openings during 1989-1992 in the USSR and Warsaw Pact, and as an extra, China. Yesterday was the 33rd anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre (My condolences goes to all the victims affected by this tragedy...) so I thought to include the PRC in.
I own nothing, all the content shown here goes to their respective owners. This video is purely only for educational, historical, and entertainment purposes. Part 2 will have countries in NATO at the time, part 3 will have the rest of the world (incl. Yugoslavia). I have recently graduated from high school, so I'm at a new chapter in life. My college classes will start on September.

This compilation of videos it's awesome, i like the Ferhsener von DDR 2 bumper from 1985, it's more advanced for his time who broadcasted. It's kinda funny Polsat can be broadcast by the Netherlands to his country and later got a legal license, meanwhile Polonia 1 (channel founded by an ally of Silvio Berlusconi, Nicola Grauso, and part of Mediaset) has founded in the country but the polish government rejected the license request.

That date under question mark is, I think, 2010, when TVP2 ended its broadcasts of regional programs. In some regions, for example Poznań or Katowice, these were reused since 2016. Also, these regional broadcasters of TVP (now called the TVP3 network centers) have regional newscasts these are: Bydgoszcz (TBT, later, after takeover by TVP in 1994, TVB) - Dzisiaj (Today, predecessor of nowadays Zbliżenia), they had a rotating text on the camera background as intro, Gdańsk (TV Neptun, later TVG (in logo) or Trójka (name of channel)) - Panorama (a.k.a. Panorama Pomorska or Panorama Gdańska to differ from TVP2's newscast), they had a red 'panorama' text written in Bauhaus font zooming out in coastal (beach seen here) background, later, they used that one with yellow letters and recorder (the recording is from special edition). This programme was launched in 1970. Katowice - Aktualności. (GTR, later Tele3) They had an tilting 'A' on indigo background, and when 'A' was faced to TV watcher by it's "legs", the name (in capital letters, coloured indigo on light-blue background) was appeared. Later, they used a BOSCH Camera, with 'aktualności' text and another text, also saying 'aktualności', on various backgrounds. Kraków (TV Kraków) (where I live) - Kronika. They had many intros during late 80's and early 90's. One of them is 1986?-1990 one, in which, multiple text was placed to the left side of screen of TV and main one was larger and placed on the top right whilst zooming to the TV (in studio, yep, during 1988 christmas, the TV was replaced with christmas tree). Second intro was inspired by Kaufland's logo. On this intro, the indigo 'K' formed of rectangle and two triangles (in blue-white background) appeared and square (firsly showing studio, later flips to coloured side and becomes red) places next to 'K' and name of program (white text) appears beneath the 'K'. Later, in 1991, the third intro was made. This one consisted of various coloured squares and text (in capital letters, glassed or steel), which was reduced to letter 'K' and blue edge appeared. Finally, in 1993 (as the YT recording, consisting of 1991 logo was recorded on new year's eve of 1992/93) they used the intro consisting of multiple texts in various colours and fonts. Lublin (TV Lublin, later TVL) - Telewizyjna Panorama Lubelska (later Panorama and, nowadays, Panorama Lubelska) - firstly, they used a program's name next to the goat (a symbol of Lublin, seen on it's coat of arms) in various backgrounds. Later, in 1990, after change of name, they had a falling text on the background, which was drawing of Krakow Gate and animation was repeated 10 times. Łódź (TV Łódź, later TVP Łódź) - ŁWD (short for Łódzkie Wiadomości Dnia), in 1985, they launched this intro, which was used until 1991. It consisted of stripes, later full name on the bottom of screen and. lastly, green-white acronym (with date beneath) on the Łódź's skyline background. After 1991 change, they used globe on the cloudy background, later a video taken in Łódź, rotating photos on the newspaper in background and, lastly, full name (in Arial, blue capital text) on the yellow background. Poznań (TV Poznań, later PTV) - Aktualności (later and before 1990 Teleskop), they used moving text from right to left, later, text with coats of arms on the black background and, lastly (with Teleskop name) intro consisting of logo of PTV (RGB stripes with PTV text next to them), squares and name (Times New Roman font, italic style). Rzeszów (TV Rzeszów, later TVRz) - Tydzień TV (later Aktualności), they used multiple fotos, and at the end, logo (Tydzień text on the blue rectangle over TV letters). Fun fact: TV Rzeszów was launched during the end of Cold War, in 1990. Szczecin (TV Szczecin, later TV7) - Telerama (later Kronika) They used a map of their (at this time) channel's availability area's map (In 80's, they also aired in Piła and Słupsk) and program's name (rotating, in minoscule). This intro was used between 1989 and 1993. In city version, used in short time around 1992, they used simple capital-lettered text on the Szczecin Port's photo as a background) Warsaw (TV Warszawa, later WOT) - TKW (a single acronym for two newscasts: city one is called Telewizyjny Kurier Warszawski, whilst regional ones were called Telewizyjny Kurier Województw), they had falling texts in 80's, in 1991, they changed intros, city news had yellow-red intro using photoshopped videos, with full name on the top right corner and black mermaid to the left, whilst, unfortunately, no 1991 regional news intro recording survived to today, but, there's last video frame. Wrocław (TV Wrocław, later TV5) - Rozmaitości (later Fakty), they firstly, during 1980's (especially since 1982), they used this intro, which camera was the background of it, 'tvp' text was on top left corner and Wrocław (in capital letters) text was on bottom left corner. They firstly showed 'R', later this broadcaster's at this time area's map, and, at the end, texts: "Telewizyjny magazyn Dolnego Śląska), which means "TV magazine of Lower Silesia" and title text (on objective), and former one, at the end of intro, blinks. In 1990, after renaming to Fakty, they used the red text (split horizontally) on the blue or grey background. In 1992, they slightly modified it again, making the background music faster and changed background to indigo. You should use this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3_SoKShntydhck

Also, you got a few mistakes: Krakow is on the Vistula river, in the Lesser Polish Voivodeship (which borders with Slovakia). Also, there's a reversed order in naming by CST channels: In 1990, CST1 was renamed to F1 and CST2 to CTV. Their slovak versions were S1 and STV. After the Velvet Divorce, F1 was renamed to CT1, CTV to CT2, S1 to STV1 and STV to STV2. And, as Ytaken said, OK3 was renamed to CT3 in the same year due to the same case, and it was later sold to Vladimír Železný, owner of CET 21, and renamed to TV NOVA. TA3 existed for short period from 1991 to 1992. Another fun fact: former Czechoslovak broadcasters began, just after said divorce, to use DOGs, which, unlike rest of Europe, is placed on the top-left corner.

Pretty sure finding TV idents from USSR-era Turkmen SSR is hard bcoz not many people in the country (incl. upper class folks as well as workers in the Turkmen TV station in Ashgabat) could afford to buy smuggled videotape recorders.

excellent collection of idents and recordings from an era of massive changes and as an archive of television history as it happened. once again i only wish it could have been 5 hours longer with many more clips(although i well know that we're lucky to have as many surviving recordings from the vhs era and before as we do). also quality analysis and understanding of each country's stations and changes through the timeline. actually, this video is so well done for a compilation of old tv clips on youtube that I must admit I'm curious if your parents are journalists or tv producers and/or if your family is from a former soviet country/eastern bloc country. not really expecting an answer but as someone who's part Ukrainian and spent countless hours over the last decade watching thousands of vintage historical tv recordings on youtube (ngl i'm not exaggerating the time i've spent watching yt instead of out living life or doing anything productive) I'm interested in the backstory behind this series and topic.

Thank you! I have upcoming two parts that will include the rest of the world. My parents have no relation to any profession in television. I don't have any relation with any of the former Eastern Bloc countries as far I as know, I'm half Japanese and half west European (possibly with some indigenous American ancestry). This is just graphic design stuff I am interested in combined with geography.

Hello! I want to write something regarding the Polish television. The newer TP1 ident (26:08) was being shown in Poland since the end of 1990. Notice that closedown from 17.11.1990 had the old ident yet (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZPPhaOZqL-Wo7c), meanwhile the closedown from Christmas 1990 has the new one (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKHIpp2mrbRrd7c). There were also 2 slightly different versions of "Dziennik Telewizyjny" intro. The intro present on your video is the older one (shown until ~1986 AFAIK), the newer one has slightly changed transitions - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKG8d62abJaFgK8. There were also the other variants of DT: - the morning edition, unofficially called "Dziennik z okna" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZjLZKyDi7BlZ68, - "Dziennik Komentarze" - like the late news and commentary (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZTMYoapg8SljNk), shown since ~1987/88, - another late news - intro was sometimes used also in the morning news (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmfdk4iAf92MmrM) - "Wiadomości Wieczorne" - only in the TP2 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6jXp6Jteteqrac) The "17:15" intro is in fact the "Teleexpress" intro, there were no news called "17:15" (just the Teleexpress was being broadcasted at that time, now it's on 17:00) Between "Panorama dnia" and "Panorama" TP2 was broadcasting for the very short time the program called "Obserwator" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rp-uiXp_gbJ0mrM, there's a great compilation of both Wiadomości and Panorama intros: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnLQZ6BulL6lotE, kzbin.info/www/bejne/moWloJmDeaZ-a9E Telewizja Wrocław had another ID in the communism times (there's a compilation of the all regional TV IDs at that time: chomikuj.pl/tparchiwum/O*c5*9brodki+regionalne+dawniej,7773053661.mp4(video)). IDs of Telewizja Poznań and Telewizja Katowice are used until today (with the redesign in case of Poznań: kzbin.info/www/bejne/amXSaX5mlsuli6s, kzbin.info/www/bejne/inzFXnmlgZd7itE). You missed Telewizja Warszawa ID :)
