Ian distancing himself from his friends, sudden change in content, dog shit on the floor during live streams, his noticeably deteriorating appearance and mannerisms, etc. This combined with the contents of Anisa's twitter account made lots of people make the connection. Toxic/damaged girl + meek guy (bonus if raised by single mother) = ruined life. I've seen it first hand, and I know many others who have seen similar situations in their friend groups or with a relative. If you're wondering how it happens, think cult indoctrination but smaller scale.

I think what happened is that Ian actually had remorse about the Content Cops and was at a point in his life where if he was told he was in the wrong, he readily believed it. Anisa was able to control him with that. Usually self awareness and a bit of skepticism about our own thoughts is good, but in this case it looks like Ian got his entire personality shifted because he was too uncertain about himself.
