Tapping the globally available valorization portfolio is also of importance. Wasted nightly grid streams could easily be converted into hydrogen, or biogas can be used in a great many places. To be honest, if purely put in terms of opportunity costs, the problems of energy scarcity would melt away, if more avenues for creating the inputs for hydrogen were closely considered.
