Hi Liz Firstly, thank you very much for all the informative videos. They are a great resource for someone preparing for IELTS without any formal coaching. I came across two problems today while attempting a practice test and would like to ask you about the same. 1. In the listening test, Section 2, there was a bank operations flow chart to be filled. the question statement was, "send (11)____ form and scanned copy of (12)_____ through the online portal, and wait for verification. The transcript of the speaker's statement says, "The first thing you must do before you can gain access to our online services is send us the profile request form over the internet through our online portal, making sure you attach a scanned copy of your passport to go with the form...." In this case, what would be the correct answer for (12)? passport OR your passport? Why? 2. The writing task 2 essay question was, "Celebrity status no longer equates with talent/accomplishments. Discuss" Does this imply that we need to present both sides of the argument and then a conclusion or does it simply require us to justify the given statement. Please advise.
@ieltsliz6 жыл бұрын
1) You need to check if the flow chart contains sentence or notes. Sentences start with a capital letter and end with a full stop - this means you need the articles and to make sure the sentence is grammatically correct. If the flow chart has notes, you don't need to worry about grammar. So, in the first case, the answer would be "your passport", in the second case "passport". 2) A discussion means that both sides are discussed.

Thank you very much. I had another query. If I'm writing my essay/letter with a pen and need to cancel some words out, will there be any penalty/negative marking for that?

Hi Liz, Watching your videos are really helping me score better in IELTS. thank you for sharing your effort here. Now at 00:50 in this video, you are saying "I will tell you now" and at 01:00 "I will tell you at the end of lesson", how good it is to use "will" with "Now" ? Please suggest.
@ieltsliz8 жыл бұрын
The "now" refer to the fact that I am informing that there are two expressions that are wrong. The "will" refers to when I will tell you which ones. It gives you a lot of time to decide which two expressions are wrong. The "now" and "will" are not used in the same sentence.

Hi Liz! Hope this would be my final question. My exam is just around the corner, and I fell anxious about my writing. Our IELTS instructors keep on telling us that we shoudn't use the same words in our writing, and i think my writing is being restricted by trying to find diffrent words that I can substitute with the words that I had used. Will I really get mark down in LR if I keep on using the same words, even if its just twice/paragraph? Looking forward to your respons and thank you!
