Firstly, I am really thankful to you, Jay, for immensely helping IELTS aspirants. In the next paragraph, I have a question regarding the content of this video. Any feedback on this question is highly appreciated. It was taught in the earlier videos that the first sentence of the paragraph will "ALWAYS" be the main idea of the paragraph. But, here (approximately at 17:47) in this video, it is contradicting this assumption. I am perplexed :).

@Jay I think question 3 is False (41:13) Because the text directly addresses: "Visually creative people report disturbed sleep." The "disturbed sleep" is not as Nightmare. and the entire other sentence directly addresses the "sleep".

Dear Jay,that is wonderful series of lectures really helped me for preparation of IELTS. I am scoring good in Listening Module during practice tests but I am still at 26/40 in Reading Module (Academic). I am good at finding headings of paragraph, fill in the blanks, matching the lines with paragraph but in T/F/NG or Y/N/NG im not scoring good point. Thanks in advance for guiding me. Stay Blessed!

One method to identify the main idea of the passage is to see how much content is covered in the passage relating to a particular word. For example, content on human activity is relatively lesser than bedbugs. However, it is still tough to choose between bed bugs and insects. Maybe one can choose the closest synonyms. I would like to take more suggestions.

In this video, at approximately 35th minute, I have two questions: Firstly, is synonym method used to find out the answer to question 1? Secondly, regarding the specified answer to the question 1. In the paragraph, it says ITA was developed prior to smartphone technology but it does not say anywhere that this is the problem. Therefore, we cannot confirm that this is the problem for ITA unless we have to project/assume something based on our own knowledge. To reinforce my point, I do not have any real life example but surely there should be few technologies that preceded smartphone technology but still working great with excellent reliability. Any feedback on the above two queries is well appreciated. Thanks a ton, in advance.
