Thank you so much for this sample ! This was the video I watched before my speaking coaching and my coach told me that I was really doing great though I didn’t talk much due to anxiety. Then my test day came. I was so anxious yet I managed to answer all the questions without pauses. I came home feeling so down cuz I thought I didn’t pass. I was repeating words like “Actually.. in particular.. etc.” so I was so disappointed. Then 3 days later I got my results online from BC. My speaking score was 7.5 !

Band 5.5 or band 9 is just one of the requirements. IELTs is also a business without capital. your work ethic and deep understanding towards your profession or career does not reflect by IELTs. However these videos helps a lot to get more ideas

I have my speaking test tomorrow, over video call. If this is band 8 speaking, I think I'm gonna get an 8. However, it depends much on the examiner too.

Can we answer people that already pass away - like lets say Michael Jackson , recently Matthew Perry (just on top of my head) or it should be the present people. Or do the examiners really dont care as long as you express yourself in English? TIA

Tia, you got that right. As long as you express yourself fluently, what you say doesn't matter as much as "how" you say it!

I am an ielts teacher actually , this is just 6.5 or 7.0 to be honest. I have chinese students who are way better in speaking and they only receive 6. You it depends on stereotyping I think. But her only advantage is that she sound more natural unlike chinese who needs to practice and put more effort.
