I think part 3 is the one actually called the long turn where you're interviewed on more complex topics for another 4 to 5 minutes???

Thank you for your feedback Victoria, You can start your reply with "in my opinion" that has given the examiner the impression that you don't know anything about the question....The IELTS test is a test of communication and expression.

I saw a video where a mail received from an IELTS examiner said that the speaking test is not done to check if you answered the exact questions you were asked, as a matter of fact, no part of the marking accesses Task Answering. SO, they said staying on track is not much of a big deal as long as you don't do it often as that will make the examiner think you crammed your answers. What is your take on this?

Hi Abraham, thanks for your feedback and question. IELTS doesn't check the quality of your answers, they check how you are able to communicate your ideas. This doesn't mean you should give irrelevant answers as this can make the interviewer assume you lack basic comprehension of the language.

Hi Ojeh. There is a way to express ignorance or weak knowledge without sounding clueless. The test is about your ability to express yourself convincingly. If I can clearly convey the depth of my ignorance about a topic then I will go ahead to say the little I know about it, then I should be fine in the test. Words like, I assume, I would guess, I think ....already convey that the information following it is from a weak point of view or knowledge. I hope this helps.
