First of all, thank you Emma for making all the videos. I know they helped literally millions of people to get higher grades on IELTS test. Besides helping to get higher grades, I am pretty sure that people can learn english through your videos very well. Nevertheless, I have to admit that I am a bit confused with the logic of this bar graph even though you said it's just an example which doesn't have anything to do with the reality. My problem is that it's not clear from which point, or year did the prices of real estates in three cities increased. Did they increase for 5% in 1990 since 1980, 1985 or some other year? I am also not 100% confident in what I am saying and it might be that I am wrong and just don't understand English that well. If that is the case I will appreciate if someone corrects me. Thank you once again Emma for all your effort and hard work and wish you all the best!

You are an awesome teacher, loved your video, but I wish to express a concern about the way to write report in writing task 1: First of all, writing task 1 is a report and should be treated as such: The use of direct speech should not be encouraged, but rather given in reported or indirect speech. The foregoing eliminates the use of the words I/Me/We, You can go with words like, 'It can be seen from the chart that ...' I stand to be corrected, No one is an island of knowledge

From the chart, we can see changes in the average housing prices in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver over a period of ten years, from 1990 to 2000.Overall, each city experienced an increase, but Montreal’s underwent the largest. The average housing prices in the three cities increased by five to ten percent. In both Toronto and Vancouver, it went up from five to ten percent, showing a difference of five percent. However, in Montreal, the average housing prices increased from minus five to five percent. In other words, there was an increase of ten percent. So it can be said that houses became more expensive in Montreal then they did in either Toronto or Vancouver. 115 words

10:37 "..Toronto and Vancouver show greater increase than Montreal..." I think that's wrong since Montreal was negative 5 (-5) on the 90's and positive 5 (5) on 2000's showing an increment of 10% compared to the 5% of Toronto and Vancouver (5 on 90's and 10 on 2000's). Anyway, great videos. They are really helpful. Cheers

I have one question. In 20:07 you said "Toronto's housing prices have increased". But the years we've given are 1990 and 2000. Both of them are in the past, so why hadn't you used past perfect instead? "Toronto's housing prices had increased". Isn't that more correct?
