Hi Saara, thank you for your message! I'm glad you have found this video helpful. Regarding using a real IELTS map, this is not a necessity because the principals of map description are the same regardless of what images you use. As long as you learn the correct vocabulary and have the appropriate approach for making comparisons, you should be able to describe any kind of visual data. Stay tuned for our next video about map descriptions in which I provide a model answer as well as more strategies for categorising information.
