i am all the way in America and have been saying the SAME THING for years to my husband who is also American, that south Africa is backwards in that sense where batho ba gatellana , black successful people like to be successful for themselves and dont like to refer another black person to the money. And yes I mention it because it was a thing my husband was not aware of because Americans function differently when it comes to sharing connects, so I was pointing out the point to a foreigner, and not badmouthing my country but rather stating facts about my people's mentality. And yes I mentioned me being in the US because this very channel brings home close when I listen to it, it keeps me updated about the current affairs that side, and that is sentimental to me you know? Sorry if that bothers you o tlaba Shap. How we as black people can move forward is letting go of a scarcity based mentality and adopting one of abundance by saying "Surely there is enough for all of us, referring my peer to this opportunity will not make me less successful" for example. You know? We have much evolving to do. 🌸
