The solo here reminds me of Lacrimosa solo, also unpredictable but similarly easy to run and just fun to compete with.

Fantastic review, agree with all your points - this game surprised me with how crunchy and thinky it is. Especially those friendly followers, how you can use them to your advantage, block spots so you can use them in the future... loved my first play, can't wait to do another one.

I think the bread and stones are swapped…. Stones are in the desert. Bread in the mountains.. great overview! I just finished a solo game and really enjoyed it.

My problem with the solo is not the dificulty (they should say the "campaing" is more of a lvls of dificulty than a campaing) the problem is that i almost can't interact or influence barrabas, it just take away things arbitrary Nice review and gameplay

Boris made a good point here. How does it compare to Lacrimosa solo? I don't have Lacrimosa. I was thinking of getting it, but I think the mechanisms have been done before? I forgot what you said about it.

Lacrimosa has a slightly similar feel to Newton in how the card play works and moving around the map, but that is where it stops. Similar, Ierusalem is very different but just has 3 slots to play cards. I think it feels like its own game.

So I finally got around to playing my first game of Ierusalem today, and I quit almost halfway through it. Just didn't like it. Going into my sell pile. I found it to be too much AP for my taste and lots of iconography that require looking up stuff a lot. Hopefully it reaches better hands.
