Makes me sad when people ask why I save and invest and tell me I should spend because you only live once. When covid came along and everyone was put on 40% salary (in my company) I was the one that did not have to change my life or sell my things and go into debt just to get by, I lived normal and maintained my regular investment instalments as if nothing had changed and I had a deep pool of funds to do it with.

Hi Nic, plz check your sound, there is a bit of eco. Nice presentation as always. Thumbs up! I will add my 2cent opinion to this debate. Let us recall about 80% of worker live paycheck to paycheck and they don't have any savings. So i am taking the rule of thumb was based on the fact that people don't save at all. Majority don't even have emergency fund. So saying save 10% of your salary is to try and male it easier. 10% of R10 is R1 10% of R1 000 is R100 10% of R10 000 is R1 000 To give a round figure like 10%, 15% is to try and simplify it and get into the habit of saving. Remember even if you have a goal to save doe for something but if you don't make it a habit 1st you might find it difficult to reach your goal. ... Thats what i think anyway based on the past experience. Until someone just said save a small amount i used to have a problem with saving because i thought it meant putting a large amount away. Now its in my blood, i put what ever i want away. Sometimes more, sometimes less. HABIT! I follow my goals easy because i now have the neccesary habit. Thanx once more. You do change people's lives!

Naturally, if it's money that would otherwise be left at the end of the month, you'll be comfortable putting it aside.

Can you please do a video on advantages and disadvantages of baloom payment?
@beewest57043 жыл бұрын
Don't know what Financial Bunny will say but balloon payment has no advantages unless you are talking about advantage for banks. It is a trap to make you think you can afford a car you cannot really afford. The banks know if you do not have the balloon payment amount for a initial deposit you will not have it for the last payment. The banks bet on you trading in your car before then than they can give you less money & you just have a new car with even bigger balloon payment. Or refinance the balloon payment. If you lose your car through theft, highjacking or write off even when the insurance pays out the book value of the car you WILL be stuck with a huge debt you are responsible for even though you do not have a car. In most cases you will end upside down on a car loan = owning more than the car is worth. It's a bad financial decision for most people.

Quick hack on getting rid of the echo in the background. Need ×4 sticks (broom/mop) or any stick that's long like the above mentioned. ×2 blankets Use 2 sticks on either side, make sure they are placed vertically, then throw the 1 blanket on the 1 side and the other on the other side. Then place out of frame near both your sides. That's it. It will help with the echo

The principle that you need to invest 15% of your income for retirement is a base case. Its founded on the assumption that, if you start investing from when you start working (age: 23-24) and want to keep your lifestyle the same at retirement then 15% invested without any withdrawals should cover your expenses. However, if you to do other things at retirement like you said holidays, planes and etc then obviously you will need to invest more. Total agree that it should be personal given that people want different things.

The crypto market has been unstable. People ask themselves now which coin to hodl better or if this is the right time to invest? before jumping to a conclusion I think you should take a look at things first.bitcoin price fall means analysts remain divided over whether it is entering a bear market or is just suffering a brief correction on the road to more record highs. Investors who bought early are still in profit despite the recent price crash and they also earn by tradin.
