In AO3 there’s this fanfic name “Ashes on the Wind” by the username “DadyCoool.” Seeking shelter from a thunderstorm, Aang lands Appa in a nearby cave, only to find a half starve Azula inside, after reaching a compromise Aang convinces Azula to come traveling with him, than it cuts forward to a Time-Skip where Aang and Azula have gotten married and gotten kids, living happily ever after. For Azulaang fans, like myself I recommend a read. 😉

The cool thing about this alternative scenario is that I can totally see Azula helping Korra in LOK in Republic City. By Azula's talent in psychology, investigation/tracking, interrogation and strategy she can definitely be well suited as a profiler heading up a task force for the RC Police. She'd be retired and serving as a consultant for Chief Lin Beifong and Tenzin especially tracking down Amon and Tarrlok. I can also see her talking to Korra a lot so that she can still have a connection with Aang! 🙂

Well... In my course of thought it sounds more realistic and makes some sense to me and I mean think about it for a second; Aang who is a hero is trying to save the world, working hard to defeat a Dictator and also fighting his emotions for the princess who's his enemy. Azula who works with a Dictator of a father, fighting for her emotions and mind, plus she has to make a choice between her Destiny of royalty or the person she love. For that, it brings out a Romeo and Juliet kind of Vibe mixed in with some Batman x Catwoman Formula along with the main storyline of save the world from a Tyrant. Makes the story sound good and have a happy ending for not only "Team Avatar", for also for Azula too who also needed someone to save and help her too. Unlike her Main Counterpart who didn't get any help from anyone in her timeline. But that's my opinion of this Alta universe (A.U) of Avatar:The Last airbender.

This would be such a fun alternate timeline, and very convenient for a lot of starved fans! With Aang growing out of his feelings for Katara, that would allow the Zuko/Katara shippers to finally get justice, and the Azula simps would finally get addressed. Overall, I love this, and actually kinda wish it had happened instead of the actual canon. Romance is probably the only area that Avatar has taken more than one L in, and this would be so interesting to watch!

this is very well thought out. i love how people can take this and spin it so subtly and make it make sense. Azula not understanding how to love would add an extra weight to her and make her even more compelling. although there is still one problem with aang. One thing i notice with airbenders is the consistence with bondage. when they choose a bison its a lifetime bond, i can't remember if there are other references to that but i think the trope is once aang set his eyes on katara he would continue to pursue or die alone

I'm not gonna lie. I kind of like this ending for the show. Especially the fact that the feelings were mutual between the 2 characters in this conversation the love was there. @@TheFakeTeo Aang was always childish, and Katara seemed more like a kid crush more than a love interest. Asula is a good match because it would force the romance with Aang to to be on the back burner a bit. Allowing for more focus on the plot instead romance of between children. Also, I think they match together because one, Aang could help heal Azula's mental state and two, Azula would help Aang grow up in stead of coddling him like Katara did. I just think it would have better in the story.

@@screamingtaco2190 Aang did grow up. Katara literally said so too. Day of black sun she said he wasn’t the same goofy kid in the ice berg. That’s the entire point of his character arc, he learns to mature and become a fully realized avatar. Also you say it would put the romance on the back burner, when Aang and Katara were on the back burner 2, and would have more development compared to a hypothetical Azula and Aang since they share little to no screen time together. Azula is more of a villain for zuko than Aang, and in that case she did not need a redemption in the show, she’s like a parallel to zuko in the sense that she’s the complete opposite of his arc. Adding a romance would convolute the story more, there is no room for it, and will ultimately lead to little fulfilling payoff. Making her be in love with any of the main cast would worsen her as an antagonist and a threat and would go against her cold and calculating character

One of the things I like about this video is that the romance doesn’t actually occur until after the story ends. Other than that, it’s mostly just encouraging the characters toquestions themselves. So I don’t think it would really change much as Azula as an antagonist. Nothing you said is wrong and I don’t dislike Katara, I just think a Azula would be more interesting.

That's a really cool concept. I was hoping that there was a means where she recovered and became better. Aang would probably be the best person to do that for real.

I almost like this more than the original story I’m not gonna lie hot take I know but this ties off everything else way better than the original did I always knew Zuko and Katara should’ve been together in my opinion, but I didn’t know who would be the best match for Aang but I said this works a lot better.
