He retired like a King, I have not seen any player retire like that, the emotion from everyone around him. To go out on his terms. He was just delaying the inevitable retirement, just enjoying being an active player kept people guessing. But to play till your 41 is rare. Even though people may forget him slowly, but there are hardly any charismatic players like him at that level, just Nadal and Djokovic. The Big 3 will not be forgotten for some years now.

It’s a popular misconception and bias based on selective tournaments and countries, that are involved in setting up biggest and most elite tournaments! Federer is not as popular in middle and south eastern countries as Djokovic and Nadal he is sure as hell not more popular than those two aforementioned fellas on their respective home territories so there’s that!
