u r still unanswered sir ... this rule , for instance , may work while living , but what about when die and take rebirth... who takes rebirth , what takes rebirth , how and why , how living entity die , if die then nothing should be left to carry forward ... only living things progess , and once die then it should not be continued... yes , we may say No Atma , but still there is something called chetna , which by complex process , packages all sanskara embedded to "vigyan" and spreads all over world like light energy ... when get suitable condition , it unpacks into new body , and then so called process continues... its impossible to say over it but tried...

@Ash Xi no brother shankaracharya is referring to Gautam Buddha who was born in Lumbini - kapilwastu. So shankaracharya is not confused you are confused. If anyone will say crow has taken away your ear will you look at your ear or you will look at crow? Why are you looking other countries look at Indian scriptures itself. If you will look at tibbet there the worship god's of Bon religion ( religion of Tibet before Buddhism went there) , so will you say Buddhism came from Bon religion?? It is called composite culture. When one religion goes at new place it can do two things 1- it can wipe out previous religion and culture and estsblish a new culture, 2- it can get mixed with the other culture and make a composite culture. So in different countries you will see different type of Buddhism + Hinduism ( because with Buddhist traders hindu traders also went to those countries and took with them hindu culture also). So instead of telling other people that Buddhism is part of Vedic tradition first consult with heigher Acharya's of Vedic tradition.

Bahot khub Guruji. I have noticed that Dr. Sinha is explaining various religious, philosofical issues rationally. Except little, he give all focus to the subject, not his personal belief. That require all praise. So far Atma, s concept is concerned, Our Sankhya, patanjal, Nyay veshashik, Boudh & Jainiesm not give prime importance to Atma tatva. Kashmiri shaiv & Shakt consider shiv as well shakti. I think the basic need to give prime imp. To Atma is to guide human being not to ever endulging in mayik phenomenon but inspire for salvation.

Buddhists believe that just like last flame of lamp can light a new lamp... similarly new birth happens from last stream of consciousness of previous life ....atma in Buddhism is considered of made of 5 skandha which are roughly feelings, thoughts,sensations, consciousness etc basically one's whole personality which changes every moment...what you are referring to is everyday change in the life of an organism...which is change in soul...not rebirth in conventional sense...hope it helps

Atma for a Buddhist is not an "entity".As per Geetha,Atma is an entity which takes on new " body" in each incarnation.This concept is totally rejected by Buddhism. But still,rebirth as per Buddhism is a very difficult concept to understand. Further,Nagarjuna's ideas may be more closer to Vedic religion than with Buddha with regard to Atma and rebirth.

In short what u call as soul or consciousness is simply an energy field that never gets destroyed. It simply moves on from body to another through diff lifetimes. In simplified term ur aadhar number is one and its unique. No other person has the same number. This aadhar number is ur soul. U can move from from one city to another city but ur aadhar number remains same. Just like that ur soul identity is same no matter how many lifetimes u live or how many bodies ur soul resides in. Guruji bas ek sawal hai, agar punar jaman us atmaka nahi hua uss jesi dusri atma ka hua hai to in do alag alag atmao ka ek dusre se sambandh hona kese sambhav hai? Ye me isliye puch raha hu, ye ek well documented even hai ke kai bacho ko unke pichle janam ki bahot sari baate jese ki tase yaad rehti hai, agar hum ye udaharan man le to punar jaman lene wali aatma alag kese hogai? Aapka diya hua spashti karan un examples ko explain karta hai jinme pehle jaman ki chetna atma ne apne agale jaman ke sath nahi legai ho par unn udaharno ka kya jab atma apni chetna agale janmo me bhi sath le gai ho? Asali rebirth to usse hi kahenge na?

जैन मत के द्रव्य संग्रह ग्रंथ में जीव को ऊर्ध्व गमन करने वाला बताया है। क्या यही बौद्ध मत भी है? पर पुनर्जन्म का उत्तर गुरु जी ने नहीं दिया। I am talking about next life. गुरुजी का भक्त हूँ। May God give him long life along with good health!

Koi parmanant eliment avasya hai ,jo sakshi naam se bhi jana jata hai, agar atma tel ki boond ki tarah hoti to use pahli wali atma ke anubhavo ki smriti kaise ho sakti hai. Vo to kshanbhangurvad ke siddhant se bhang hi hochuki .lekin smriti nirantar bani rahti hai,smriti ko aadhar dene wala koi parmanant tatva to avasya hi hota hai. Usi tatv ke karan smriti sambhav hai, bhagwat geeta me bhagwan krishn ne bhi kaha hai- 1-sarvasya chaham hridi sannivisto mattah smritih gyanam apohnam ch. 2-aham atma gudakesh sarvbhutashaya sthitah Uprokt pramano se spast hai ki ishwar hi vo tatva hai jo atma rup se sabhi pranio me avasthit hai jo smriti me karan hai.

नही, जिसकी आपने व्याख्या की उसे बुद्धिज्म में (विन्याना/ विज्ञान) शब्द से बताया गया है जो कि पंच स्कंध का ही एक पार्ट चेतना है, वो अलग से आत्मा जैसी किसी कल्पित विचार को नही मानते, क्योकि पाली ग्रंथो में स्पष्ट रूप से अनात्मता का सिद्धान्त बताया गया है। चारो मुख्य बौद्ध स्कूल- वेभेषिक, सौत्रान्तिक, योगाचार और माध्यमिक भी यही विचार स्पष्ट रूप से मानते है, क्योंकि ये सिद्धान्त उनके मूल सिद्धांत "शून्यवाद" से गहराई से जुड़ा है।

Rehta hai. Every moment of life - nama-rupa-vinnana etc - is dependently produced by the previous moment's nama-rupa-vinnana etc - so there is some sameness but *not* absolute sameness like an unchanging Atman in Advaita Vedanta. Good question!
